Really loved staying at zur alten mine. I definitely recommend it to anyone and everyone and this wonderful guesthouse will definitely see me again! I really love the comfortable and warm, welcome feeling of the log cabins. Going to mis lighting up the hearth fire and lanterns while listening to the sweet music of the night

This was a very cute place and Walli and Rainer (and their dogs) were great hosts. There are picturesque short walks around the grounds and it is a very short drive to town and Blyde River Canyon. Highly recommended.

Lovely accommodation with lots of attention to homely detail. We had a very cosy log cabin with a wood burning fire and great views towards the mountains. The hosts were knowledgeable and friendly. Breakfasts were just right.
Location is perfect for the local sights and only 5 minutes by car into the centre of Graskop.
Yes it can get quite foggy around here, but the sun frequently breaks through and the scenery and views in this area are stunning.
Watch out for big potholes even on the main roads; and beware of the logging trucks which stop for almost nothing!

What a beautiful place. Relaxing, picturesque. The breakfast in the morning was delicious with the homemade bread rolls. Hosts are very welcoming and helpful. Close to all the main attractions around the Graskop area and Kruger Park.

We stayed here for 2 nights and loved the placed from the beginning. We booked the Honeymoon chalet and loved the spaciousness of the chalet. The woodfire helped us through the colder nights but I found it hard to really get it going. The bed was good, the breakfast was one of the best we had during our round-trip especially the choice in meat, cheese and bread is something hard to find in South Africa.

Rainer helped us every morning to plan our day and gave good advise in were to go for dinner and lunch. Rainer knows well what kind of traveller likes what kind of things, he knew very well that we weren't the one who stayed there for a visit to Pilgrim's rest, but rather love the nature and views, unfortunately it was very misty the 2 days of our stay and thus we couldn't do the whole panoramaroute but still there were plenty of things to see.

The only negative point were the kitchen gear, especially the knives. We tried one day to cook for ourselves but when you only got blunt knives it is really hard to cut up your veggies or fruit.

Room Tip: If you are a couple go for the honeymoon chalet. It is very spacious with a nice en-suite bathroom...

The place is very nice, such are the cabins, and the view of God's Window from the porche... We experienced it on October 13th. As the walls are not really isolated from outside, we were a bit freezing.
Still, it's a lovely place. No peculiar contact with the hostess (not the real ones, friends of them), courteous but not more. Anyway we stayed one night, along our roadtrip.
We would recommend it but in hot season, as it seems more appropriate.
Finally, it is outside Graskop, but easy to drive there (not when it's foggy :) ) and quite fastly.

Room Tip: the one up to the hill, before continuing to the right. It seems to be where you can see god's W...
