We initially booked the honeymoon-suite for a cosy getaway. At the last minute we decided to take along the kids. Rainer & Walli upgraded our cottage without any questions. They were very helpful, friendly and full of useful advice. The scenery is beautiful, the breakfast delicious and the cottages well equipped, cozy and clean. Hope to be back soon...

We spent two nights in the Honeymoon chalet, which was really really nice and cozy - it even had a small fireplace! The two German hosts are very friendly and care about their guests, give advice and help out whereever possible/necessary.
Only small issue was that something got freshly painted which caused some headache in the first night. But this should be gone until you get there.

We spent two nights at Zur Alten Mine and it was such a delightful stay. Walli & Rainer are great hosts and extremely helpful & knowledgeable about the area, where to go and recommendations of what to do.

The location is extremely ideal and central for anyone wishing to explore the panorama route and the accommodation is beautiful. It is so peaceful just to sit and enjoy the view over there.

Will definitely go back again if I'm ever in the area.

We stayed in the Honeymoon Chalet in March 2013 for 4 nights self-catering - a beautiful wooden chalet with a raised deck near the large pond. Very comfortable, and very reasonably priced. Restaurants are only a few minutes away (Glass House in Graskop and Kruger's Gold just outside) and very convenient for The Pinnacle, God's Window, Bourke's Luck Potholes, Three Rondavels and Pilgrim's Rest etc, (A bit far out from the Kruger Park, though). Rainer and Walli are very welcoming and knowledgeable hosts and their dogs are very friendly and playful. This was our second visit and we will definitely stay again if ever we revisit the area.

We've spend one night at Zur alten Mine in January. It's a good spot for a transit night if you are doing the Panorama route or while you are en route to Kruger Park. Our bungalow was very spacious however we were upgraded upon arrival so not sure about the size of the "normal" bungalows. It was also clean and had everything we needed, but the furniture was a little bit strange with a lot of different styles mixed together.

Worth mentioning is the breakfast which was included in our rate: the owners serve homemade German-style bread and bread rolls along with ham and salami from a local butcher. There was also homemade cake, muesli and a great fruit salad.

We had a pleasant stay at Zur Alten Mine. The location is centralized of all activities nearby. Zur Alten Mine is a peaceful area to relax from city life. Very friendly reception and you feel at home. We will go back at any time and would certainly recommend Zur Alten Mine to our friends and family. Great place. Bennie and family.

Thanks to Rainer and Walli for the wonderful time we had at your tranquil B & B only 5 km's outside Graskop. Your hospitality is tops and we thouroughly enjoyed the breakfasts every morning. We will definitely be back if ever in that area again.

Room Tip: Log Cabin overlooking the dam is lovely... very clean and comfortable and very affordable.
