We spent 2 nights at ZUR ALTEN MINE.The hosts are very, very friendly and helpful.
The wooden chalets are very comfortable and cozy and we had an amazing view from inside the chalet as well as from our terrace.
The chalets are fully equipped and nothing was missing. It was very clean, the bathrooms are newly renovated with a big rain shower -fantastic!
For cold nights you have a feature fireplace in the living room were you can make a fire (wood is provided by the hosts).
Heatings are also provided in the chalets.

The breakfast is fantastic no one leaves the table hungry. The hosts are very attentive and helpful.

We think ZUR ALTEN MINE is an accomodation for everybody -for younger and older couples, single travellers, Backpackers - a place where everybody is welcome.

The location is amazing -about 10min by car to Gods Window and not very far from other attractions like for example the Three Rondavels or the Lucky Potholes situated in the Blyde River Canyon.

Thanks to Rainer and Walli for our great stay!

We stayed in the honeymoon chalet of Zur Alten Mine in July 2011. The chalet is spacious and tastefully decorated with wood-panneling all around. There is a kitchen with all the utensils you might need and a large bed with faces a huge window. The bathroom has a shower and a seperate toilet. There is ample firewood available for the fireplace which is needed in the cold winter months.

The German hosts are extremely welcoming and whip up a filling and extremely tasty breakfast. They are also always on hand to offer advice or tips on what to do in the region.

Me and my boyfriend stayed here for 2 nights on our way to the Krugerpark. We booked the honeymoon chalet and it was beautiful! It had a nice fire place and a fantastic view over the property. Also there was a very nice bathroom with lots of space and a good shower. In the kitchen you have everything you need to cater for yourself but we choose the breakfast option. This was very good, everything you need. The owners of the property were great! They had some good tips for restaurants and they helped us to change our reservations for the camps we were going to visit in Krugerpark. If you are looking for a cosy chalet in a beautiful quiet area, this is the place to be!

We stayed our first night in SA at Zur alten Mine and enjoyed it very much. The hosts are extremely helpful, both with recommendations for restaurants and activities as well as with solving problems (they helped us greatly with organizing the boarder crossing letter for our rental car).

The value for money is awesome. We had a very roomy cottage that was in good shape. The breakfast was very good and plentiful. Due to the limited number of rooms, the whole service was very personal.

We can fully recommend this place if you want to enjoy the whole Blyde River Canyon area.
