Simply superb! I always read trip advisor before travelling and I must say that the positive reviews certainly held up in my opinion....Thank you - It was such a wonderful stay at Epacha Game Lodge - the exceptional rooms,...a lovely feeling to have the sounds of the African night invade your senses, the dinner area overlooking the waterhole and the animals , everything was just perfect!! Also, just outside of the restaurant area is a bird feeder -- bird watching was a wonderful way to spend some of the hot lazy afternoon hours . The entire lodge was well-kept, spacious and clean. The main-courses were above average, and desserts & breads excellent. Small details and touches were professional, and demonstrated pride by the new manager, Arrie, who never failed to show us something surprising and exciting. What a remarkable manager with a exceptional knowledge about nature and its creatures. We wish him all the best of luck and hope to see him again on our next trip to Epacha.
But, overall, the best part of my stay was dealing with all of the staff. They went out of their way to help us -- and they made our stay the best it could be. Very highly recommended, probably the best place we stayed in Namibia. A pity we couldn't stay longer, but a repeat visit is definitely on the cards.

We made a booking for the spa and clay pigeon shooting. Making the booking by phone proved to be very difficult because of the low level of professionality of the person on the phone.
Upon arrival we were told the guide left on a safari tour; we were not informed.

Dear Jasper, first of all thank you for your review. We've just contacted our reception at Epacha and they still recall this incident. Since you were not a lodge guest , physically staying at Epacha we were not able to contact you and inform you of the time change. Please be assured that this is not the norm at our lodges. We would have appreciated you contacting us directly with any concerns so we could have tried to solve that matter.
Kindest Regards, Leading Lodges of Africa - Marketing@leadinglodges.com

We had the greatest 3 day treat at Epacha Game Lodge & Spa in Namibia. From the moment we entered the premises until the very last moment when we left, Hendrik & Marieka Burger treated us like royalty and made sure that our visit to the facility was even better than the 5 stars they stand for. What a feast to see 2 people so commitment to ensure their guests are satfisfied. The facility is beautiful beyond words and whether you are spoiled with a breakfast on your balcony, a bushveld braai at sunset or a totally relaxing spa treatment... each and every event makes you feel like the most important person at Epacha. Thanks so much Hendrik & Marieka and all the friendly Epacha staff... we can't wait to come back! May Epacha grow from strength to strength!

We had the pleasure of spending 3 nights in Epacha last March. The setting is marvelous, the rooms are magnificent, the bar/swimming area is great. The meals are superb, especially the 5-course dinners in the evening. The bush lunch during our Etosha game drive was also magnificent, imagine tablecloths, porcelain, silver, crystal and a delicious meal in the middle of the bush - great. Staff are extremely friendly and helpful. All in all a very enjoyable experience. We would definitely recommend this lodge to all.

We stayed here in July and was very disappointed. The food was limited- a set menu for dinner. The food was not good- the meat overcooked and dry. The game drive was cancelled in the morning without notice (we were at the front desk at 6 AM to depart and then informed) because the vehicle was broken. There were no alternatives offered for the morning game drive through the Hotel. They hired a replacement vehicle for the afternoon. Staff was friendly but spoke and understood limited english. I would definitely advise that the expensive cost of this hotel be applied to a different choice. It is also far (one hour) from Etosha Park- The game drives within Epacha were limited in viewing- the high grass restricted the viewing.

Dear Boston Girl,
Thank you for your review on Epacha, we are now almost one year later and I am proud to say that much has changed at Epacha Lodge! Our 5 Course menu is now designed in such a way that there is a nice variety and choice in the courses so our guest may select to their taste. We also have a new chef on board who looks after every details in the kitchen and cooks with the freshest produce from our gardens!
On the activities side we have worked hard to get our rangers and activity centre to a top standard. The Epacha Private Game Reserve is now known as the Epacha Wildlife Sanctuary where we can practically guarantee that you will see some of our 16 Black Rhino, the unique Sable antelope, the Black-Faced Impala and Africa's fastest antelope, the Tsessebe!
We sincerely hope to welcome you again some day at Epacha so you may experience this all. By then we should also be ready with our new road to Etosha National Park, this road is now under construction and runs over the Epacha Reserve to our new entrance that will be
at only 11km from the Etosha National Park, Anderson Gate!
