This was our third visit to this hotel and sadly we were disappointed this time as we have very fond memories of our previous times here.
We were welcomed as usual by the same friendly and helpful staff who remembered us from our previous visits. However, the hotel seemed very run down and grubby. The pool was empty and had a pile of rubble next to it where a wall that used to exist had been knocked down. When we asked about the pool we were told it had been emptied 1 month ago and they did not know when or even if it would be filled again. This was disappointing as we were looking forward to a swim after visiting Beni Hassan and Akhenaton's tomb.
Our room was still very nice with a very comfortable bed and a lovely view from our balcony and on the evening we were able to enjoy some cold Stellas in the garden.
The breakfast was the usual Egyptian style although we did have omelette cooked for us wich was very nice.
I can't help but feel that the hotel has been allowed to get run down due to the current lack of tourists as if they think 'what's the point'. Maybe the situation will improve and then the hotel can be updated, hopefully...
