“Clean Campground with Great Accommodations”
Reviewed July 19, 2013

The owners of Mecosta Pines, Deb and Rick, are very friendly and most accommodating. They recently acquired the campground and have steadily made improvements. The sites are level, clean and easily accessed. The large swimming pool was spotless and warm with plenty of lounge chairs for sunning. The playground was in a shaded area and had a good assortment of playground equipment, including a putt-putt golf course. There were many things to keep kids busy at this campground! We stayed at the beginning of our trip and were so impressed that we stayed 2 nights on our return trip home.

Me and my family visited Mecosta Pines in 2011, it was one of the best camping experiences me and my family have ever had at a campground.. the campground was very clean, the campground offered alot of activities for the kids as well as the adults to enjoy, and the owners Rick and Debbie ( 5.0 ) made the stay incredible, very friendly service, it was almost like staying in a hotel, the type of family atmosphere that lead us to become seasonal campers this year in 2012!! I can't picture me and my family ever leaving!!!

My family was there during the storm and a tree came down on our vehicle which they got cleaned up immediately that was by no means there fault. The owner's were very friendly along with other campers. Our family would recommend going there as our kids had alot of fun with the activities they had. We even broke down on our way there a few exits away and when I called to let them know we were still coming and the situation the owners offered to come get our family and 5th wheel and bring it to the campground even though we finally made it NO ONE ELSE WOULD HAVE DONE THAT!!!! It was the owners first year of owning it and I believe they did everything they could!!!!!

This campground is completely wonderful. So many things to do and a completely safe environment for my son to ride bike, swim in the pool, fish in the river plus the game room is great when the weather is not cooperating with outside activities. I can hardly wait until we can schedule our first weekend for 2012. It is a true summer escape that is very reasonable and with lots of fun activity weekends planned by the owners.

My family spent every weekend this summer from Memorial Day to Labor Day at Mecosta Pines Campground. The owners are fair and friently. Many fun activites were planned including a Fourth of July Parade, Christmas in July, Dog Days of Summer, Halloween Weekend, hayrides, amish bake goods, and a pool...what more can you ask for? We cannot wait for next summer !

We were looking for a campground close to home so we tried Mecosta Pines, WE LOVED IT!!!!! So much for the kids to do, the pool was very clean and I can't wait till next year when they have the NEW bath house built. We had nothing but a great experience with this campground and they are pet friendly. The tube trip was a lot of fun. My kids love it and are excited to camp there again next summer.

While the facilities are passible and reasonably clean, the customer service was horrible. A storm came through and knocked out power and tore down tents and awnings. With no generator to power their pump, there was no water available. Did they come around to check on the campers at their sites? No. Did they offer drinking water or coffee from their store (on generator power)? No. Did they offer to reduce the rate per site from "All Amenities" price to "Rustic" price? No. Did they find a generator to run their scheduled DJ? Yes (unbelievable but true). Did they offer reduced rates for their tube rides down the river in the 100+ degree heat when the pool couldn't be used? No. Did they have the one port-a-john for the whole camp (150+ people) cleaned and emptied? No. We tried to make the best of the situation but received no support from the owners/operators. We ended up leaving after two nights even though we paid for three - with no refund. The whole experience was disappointing but lack of caring and compassion for the families that were camping explains why there were still empty lots available on a holiday weekend.
