“Clean, Comfortable, Close to Ann Arbor”
Reviewed February 20, 2012

We have stayed at this hotel a few times a year for the past five or six years now. It's location is only about seven miles from Ann Arbor and much more reasonable than the hotels in Ann Arbor. It is usually always available during the fall when we go out for UM football or winter hockey & basketball games. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The staff is exceptional and the continental breakfast is suffice prior to the morning tailgate at UM or just before the long drive back to NJ.

We stayed during a Wolverines football weekend, a good clean place, about a fifteen minute drive to Michigan Stadium (plan for much longer on game day).
The pool area being open all night is a pleasant bonus!!,
Allows for more flexibility for travel time, dinner, shopping etc.
A refrigerator is also a bonus to the usual amenities.
Staff were pleasant and breakfast was good.

Would stay again.

Thank you for your review! We recently decided that keeping the pool open 24 hours would be a great way for our guests to warm up after those chilly Fall games. We really appreciate your feedback, and hope to see you again!

I don't quite get the negative reviews concerning this property which we haved used three or more times. The service desk has always been reasonably efficient and accomodating, and the larger rooms have always been quite clean. Note that this hotel will require a 15-mile plus drive to get to the UM campus vicinity, but it is worth it based on the PRICE that you will pay. Ann Arbor is NOT cheap! The immediate area around the hotel is NOT exactly scenic...a "combination" TacoBell/convenience store/gas station is a stone's throw away and a large new Walgreen's is across the street. Also, a prison is located not far away...just so you are not surprised if you spot it off the Interstate! This, in essence, is a "stop" exit (not a town) along the Interstate. Fellow guests (in our experience) have largely been soccer group parents and families visting their UM-based kids...no issues observed. The room wireless internet connection has been adequate, not great. Other amenities: iron/ironing board, blow dryer, a microwave and refrigerator (wich is unusual in a budget hotel).
Breakfast: waffle maker, pieces of fruit, bagels/rolls,cereal, hot oatmeal (pot), yogurt, coffee, juice, hard-boiled eggs.

Thank you for your honest and thoughtful reviews of our location! We appreciate you coming back to our hotel, and for telling others about what we offer. You may be interested to know that the city of Milan is actually a little ways down the street from us, our hotel is located on the outside edge of it.

We stayed here during the weekend of the arts fair. This hotel (and I assume many others) were sold out and the price we paid did reflect this demand. We found the staff to be friendly and accommodating, especially the evening desk clerk Jason. The hotel was cleaned to our expectations and comfortable for our limited needs. Despite the hotel being sold out, we always managed to get a free parking spot. They did offer an indoor pool and fitness center. The business center was a single computer near the front desk.

Our room had a small work area with functioning internet. There was an iron and board, as well as a blow dryer and luggage rack. The bedding was sufficient. It also had a microwave and refrigerator. There was no tub, but we actually preferred the shower offered.

Breakfast was good and offered “make your own waffles”, biscuits and gravy, fruit (although I wish it was a bit more fresh), muffins, dry cereal, oatmeal, yogurt, coffee (24 hours a day), and juice.

I was disappointed to discover that the water sold in the pop machines on the individual floors was pricier than the water sold in the lobby machine.

There were a few restaurants in the area including a Taco Bell next door, however the options were somewhat limited. The drive to the University of Michigan wasn’t lengthy and worth our savings.

While I wasn’t pleased with the price that we paid, I think that I would find this hotel to be a better bargain on a less popular weekend.

We stayed here because Ann Arbor places were all booked up. Next time we will book here on purpose. We got a big suite with a living room and jacuzzi for less than a price we paid last year in Ann Arbor. They have a pool, fitness center with working equipment and free wifi. The breakfast had waffles and biscuits and gravy and we were able to get hot chocolate and coffee all day. The room was clean, the staff was friendly as well as helpful and the place was super quiet. Beds were comfortable and we liked having a table and chairs to eat at when we got delivery from a local restaurant. It worked.

I went with my family not to long ago, and the people who worked here didn't care what the guest did. There was another group of people here who were getting DRUNK in the LOBBY! And the workers said nothing. As the night progressed the par-tiers became loud with singing and mimicking other guest who passed by. We complained to the front desk over 3 time but nothing was done until 11pm! We talked to the manger and we only received 10 percent off because we were the only one to complain! But when you look at the size of the party, they probably took up most of the hotel.
