Even though I had to wait about 10 minutes before somebody showed up at the desk, the owner was friendly and happy to get us all checked in. It wound up not being an inconvenience to stand and wait.
There are three parts to this place, the motel (where we stayed), the cabins and the bunkhouse. All located in a nice little area with a shelter house full of picnic tables and a grill off to one side.
Our room did look like a throwback to the 50s or 60s but it was charming in a way plus clean and the beds were comfortable, which is most important. They didn't have much as far as cable but we were able to find movies to watch that kept us happy. We stopped at a little market down the road to get snacks then just relaxed for the night.
Don't expect gorgeous views or a swimming pool, but know that it is all suffice and a close drive to the Alpine Slide!
