“a fun time”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 10, 2014

This ride was very cool for my wife and i. Our 2 year old was not as thrilled. The stop at lake Michigan provides a chance to enjoy some amazing views. It also allows for them to send for a pick up truck if your 2 year old doesnt want to get back on the ride. Thanks for taking care of us, we will give our dear daughter a couple more years before we try it again....;)

“Fun for the whole family”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 10, 2013

My wife, daughter, son-in law and grandsons had a great ride. Our driver is a school bus driver in the area and was very informative and she made the ride fun. It was our first time on the dunes and will certainly do it again during our next camping trip to the area.

“Great tour of the Dunes to start off with!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 25, 2013

If you dont get a chance to take your own ORV or rent one to explore the dunes then this is a must. They offer a very good tour of what I believe is the southern end of the Dunes and at a very reasonable price. They also make a quick stop by lake michigan so you can take photos.

“Great Experience!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 23, 2013

My family was apart of a large group that purchased this tour. NOTE: If you pay with cash for your group reservation, Mac Wood's offers a $2 discount per each person in your party.

Our driver was enjoyable, cracking jokes as we go along. The tour takes you through the southern third portion of the Silver Lake Dunes which is leased by Mac Woods only, thus they are the only tour company that is on the dunes. The middle third is reserved for foot traffic while the northern third is open to the public and their vehicles.

The ride does take about 40-45 minutes with a few stops on the dunes themselves for a witty history lesson which was very interesting, and a stop on the shore of Lake Michigan which lasts about 5-7 minutes.

We did have to wait for our 10am reservation but not very long. There are indoor restrooms available and a VERY small play area for the little ones. It was nice that Mac Woods provided this play area but keep in mind that it contains two plastic teeter totters, one of which was broken, and a very small plastic slide.

If we come back to this area I don't know if we will come back. It was a great one-time experience but I don't know if the cost is worth having almost the same exact repeat experience. I WOULD recommend that if you have never done this to give it a try. It was a really good experience.
