“Worth drive north!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 31, 2013

This was a Christmas present for my Girlfriend and her 6 year old daughter and as she put it, it "was the best present she's ever received!". Originally we had thought about doing the shorter "riding" tour offered at Boyne Highlands by Nature's Kennel but really wanted to see the kennels and give my GF the opportunity to mush her own team of dogs. It was DEFINITELY worth the extra 2.5 hour drive, we all had a blast! The dogs are awesome and Nature's Kennel has a top notch facility and staff. Our guide, Jessica, did a great job showing my GF how to hook up the teams and prep the sleds. My GF then got to drive her own sled behind the sled that myself and her daughter rode in (piloted by the Jessica) and Jessica even let her daughter stand with her in the musher's position for a part of the ride. The trails were great too, very remote and beautiful! Afterwards we all warmed up with hot cocoa, coffee and fresh baked cookies. Im sure the ride-only offered at Boyne Highlands by Nature's Kennel would be awesome too but if you have the time, i definitely recommend the drive up to their main facility to mush your own sled! Definitely dress warm, wear a neck gator/face protection and bring a camera!

“I wish everyone could do this once in their life!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 28, 2013

Wow wow wow! On a trip that took in Macy Parade in NYC, skiing in Aspen, and much more on 6000km trip from NYC to Aspen this was my highlight. We were the first group of the season getting lucky with early snow. We were greeted like old friends and were invited to be involved in all aspects of harnessing and deharnessing. Some of our group rode as passengers and some drove their own sleds. Everyone of us aged from 13 to 70 were blown away! The scenery, the serenity all of it was a once in a lifetime experience. They went beyond the call of duty taking my boys who had never seen snow before for a spin on snow mobiles and leant us snow shoes. We hope to see Jess, Dave,Tash, Jas and all the gang in Australia sometime. We would gladly welcome them!

“Winter Fun at It's Best!!!!!!!!!!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 13, 2013

If you love snow and dogs, you MUST go dogsledding at Nature's Kennel. If you're concerned that you don't have the skill for this adventure, have no worries. The friendly staff gives you complete instruction with regards to the dog sled and the dogs. You hook up you own team with their guidance, then you're off and running the beautiful, snowy trails, driving your own team :)
My husband and I took the full day tour, which includes a break for lunch....warm food supplied.
I loved the sound of the gentle panting of the dogs and the padding of the feet as they trotted along. Put this on your bucket list and get it checked off.....more than once!

“Sled Dog Ride and Driving”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 10, 2013

Just completed 4 hours of a great experience. This was on my bucket list. The people here are great. They give you instructions on how to drive and control your sled. They let you drive the sled by yourself. You get the real feeling of what it is like to harness the dogs, Control the dogs, and drive the sled. Everything about this adventure was just amazing. Would highly recommend to any one that wants a great adventure. We went on April 10th. and there was more than 4 Ft. of snow.

“Great place!”

Our group of 36 women with Trailbound Trips loved our time at Nature's Kennel. Everything about this operation is first-rate, and they were able to handle our large group wonderfully. Kudos to Tasha, the staff, and those great 170 dogs! Carol R.
