“Affordable and comfortable”
Reviewed March 1, 2013

Very friendly staff with check-in and check -out. Some remodeling going on, but not disturbing in the least. A fine motel to stay at for a quick weekend stay where it doesn't drain the pocketbook. Great for families that are on the road traveling with their kids for sporting events... we all know how expensive it is be on the road every weekend. Very affordable and comfortable.

I would definitely stay here again. This is an older property in varying stages of remodeling. Our room must've previously been a smoking room for several years as that stale-smoke-odor hit us when we entered the room. After 5 minutes, we didn't notice the odor any more (I'd booked the last remaining room in the hotel for that night, so we were willing to get past it). For us, the stay was a great value. The room was clean (that's what we expect most in a hotel stay) the staff members were cheerful, engaging and helpful (Glenda, Ashley and Deb), there was a pool for my toddler-aged daughter to spend some time in, and there was continental breakfast the following morning. I didn't pay $200+ dollars a night so I didn't care that it wasn't a new property with all new shiny walls and fixtures or a 5-star breakfast. Value, value, value. It was clean, the staff genuinely seemed to care that we'd chosen to stay there, and they were intent on making our stay a pleasant one. That definitely works for me.

This hotel was very affordable and comfortable. The staff at the front desk were very friendly both at check-in and check-out. The rooms were clean and cozy and even though there was some remodeling going on across the hall from our room, it wasn't loud or disturbing in the slightest. It was a great hotel choice and I will probably stay again in the future.

Overall poor choice for a 2 night stay. Thought we'd save a few bucks. Wish I had chosen differently. Another $12/night, I could have stayed elsewhere. Small room. Hard to see TV r/t room layout, placement of beds, TV. Dingy room, carpet, hall. Entry to hotel not locked, and you enter a narrow hall, then rooms, it seems that maybe the room doors originally entered directly from parking lot, then the hall was added for some reason, odd. Parking lot small, I had to park on grass, which was muddy. Towel bar fell off wall. Water hard to control in shower, fine line from scalding to freezing. Room window high, and view was of the wall in the hall. This property either needs to be completely renovated, or torn down and rebuilt. Very outdated. Breakfast was straight carbs- toast, waffles, cereal, no yogurt, no fruit. Would never stay again.

We are sorry for any inconvenience you had during your stay with us. Our main concern is always to make our guests as comfortable as possible during their stay. If guests would like, we are always more than willing to show them their rooms before checking in. We are currently undergoing renovations in select areas to update the hotel, and we also offer parking in our front lot, a side lot, and a back parking lot. Included in our breakfast, we do offer apple juice, orange juice, milk, whole wheat bread and oatmeal for our heart-smart guests to choose from as well. Again, we are sorry you were not satisfied with your stay, but we hope that you may reconsider us again in the future.

We had a clean, well-maintained room

Way lower priced than other hotels in the Marquette area

The breakfast buffet included hot waffles and was definitely better than the average lower priced hotels. Plus, it remained open later than stated on the sign, which was great for us since we were running a little late

The staff was all very friendly

I reviewed this place in December 2011. Pretty much, it's the same. The staff is great--very friendly and helpful and they do their jobs very well. It's the building and rooms--they are in serious need of renovation--paint, wallpaper, carpet, etc. You probably won't have a bad experience--just not that good either. It's a place to sleep and shower. The rooms and overall ambiance is dingy. I did notice some cob webs in our room--that is something that is easy to correct. Peeling wallpaper--also easy to correct if you can't afford to totally replace it. It really needs an owner with some money and interest to spruce it up. However, as long as it attracts people, I don't think there is any incentive to change it.

Like others have said, the breakfast is ok, but you can probably do better that McD's across the street. But, it is free.

Also to note--the building entrance facing 41 does not have a locked door, though it does have a card entry. The lock is busted--anyone can walk in. We never felt unsafe, but I'm just putting the notice out there.

Room Tip: We spent a few nights in "the big room"--room 217. Two queens, full kitchenette, huge sect...

We paid about $80 for a Friday night during the summer. check-in went well even though there was a large number in our party, about 10 people checking in at one time. the desk lady, was friendly, efficient and helpful. The room set-up is weird, the rooms have windows that look out into a , dingy hall, which U use to get to other parts of the hotel and parking lots. Seemed, like the hall was added at some point after the main part of the hotel was built. Not real bad, but not an inviting set-up. The room was adequate, dated, but clean. dont expect much at the breakast, either cold ceral or waffles. Nothing more than that, plus very weak coffee, with only powered creamer. Check-out was efficient. Our vist was planned for just the one night, however because of a mechanical problem we had to stay in Marquette two more nights. We stayed at another place in the budget category, for less money, the Brentwood Motor Inn, 420 cheaper and better.

Room Tip: Look other places, first.

Thank you for staying with us and taking the time to write a review. Our staff loves to hear that our service is noticed and appreciated. Some of our rooms do have windows that lead into heated and covered indoor hallways, while others lead straight outdoors for those who wish. We are always willing to let guests view their rooms before checking in, and if possible, we will move people into specific rooms based on their preference. We hope that you will stay with us again in the future.
