“Great Location, request the Tower rooms”
Reviewed March 14, 2012

If you catch a good deal for the Ramada in Marquette, it is a wonderful place to stay. Here is a helpful hint, suggest the tower rooms. They have been renovated and feel clean and cozy and if you might have a wonderful view of Lake Superior. The older rooms still feel a bit scummy and dirty. I stayed in a pool side room and it was very gross plus it was right next to the exit door and there was all sorts of noise at 2 am (bar closing time). Requested to be in the tower rooms and was pleasantly surprised! Clean and quiet rooms and nicely decorated!

The only wierd thing here is that their WiFi is free (no password needed) so parking was a bit difficult because you would see wierdos in their cars with their lap tops grabbing the free WiFi. I think this would be resolved if they did what ALL other hotel/motel establishments do, give a passcode to log on to the WiFi. I didn't dare look down in the creepers grabbing the free WiFi in the parking lot because I am sure I didn't want to see the wierdness. So parking is difficult from all the people in their cars with their computers. I don't know if I have seen a hotel room as clean as I have in the towers rooms in a LONG time.

They have a pool and it is sufficient. I got the room for ~$96/night, however their rates change to higher amounts so be diligent in your research to get the best deal. I won't stay any other place in Marquette.

Advice, request the tower rooms and I think the rooms with 2 double beds give the Lake Superior view.

Room Tip: Choose the tower rooms!

I had stayed at the ramada a few years back and it was in need of a rennovation. Stayed there this weekend with old college friends. Room had been nicely rennovated including flat panel tvs, new furniture and a small fridge which was nice. The location is downtown and perfect for going to the local bars and restaurants.

Room Tip: HIgher floor on the lake side had a nice view of both downtown and the lake.

Patrick took care of us with prompt and efficient service! I could sense the amount of customers that he had to deal with and thought under the circumstances that he handled it with professionalism.

Our performing group was in Marquette to participate in an NMU concert series, and had the good fortune to be put up at this property. The rooms had been redone within the past year, and were both clean, comfortable, and easy on the eyes (strong, soothing colors, nice art on the walls). This property does an exceptional job of accomodating large groups (during our stay a couple of hockey teams and a lacrosse team passed through) and perpetual transients (business travelers and airline personnel) without any after-hours noise. The in-house restaurant does breakfast way above good. The staff treated us like royalty from check in to check out.

The pool/jacuzzi/sauna area is very dated and pretty tired looking. However, everything was clean; and, to their everlasting credit, the jacuzzi was boiling, the pool was temperate, and the sauna did its traditional work.

Marquette is a phenomenal place. It's got a thriving, fascinating downtown that's a gateway to myriad opportunities for recreation in every direction. The Ramada Inn of Marquette is worth considering as a home base here in "Da UP."

Room Tip: Because we were a larger group, it would have been nice to have the option of connecting rooms. We w...

I was driving some employees back from Lansing, MI and we got caught in a terrible storm. We ended up here and the place was very nice. The staff was very accommodating and even gave us a bit of a discount since we were displaced for the evening. The thing that was interesting is that the power was out, due to the storm, and the staff lead us to our rooms with flashlights. They are awesome!! I believe that credit should be given where credit is due and these folks went over and above to accommodate us!!!

Room Tip: First floor next to the pool is always best!!

Worst hotel experience of my life. Stayed here with my band-mates while we played at a local bar. Came back late in the evening to find that our keys did not work. when we questioned the front desk they told us we had been kicked out of our room because employees smelt marijuana near our room. They had called the cops and searched our room with dogs without our consent, only to find my herbal MEDICINE right next to my MEDICAL paperwork. However they still kicked us out of the room and forced us to sleep in a freezing cold truck... and even had the nerve to try and charge us a 250 fine for smoking in the room when they had no evidence to support the claim.

We need to be very sensitive to all of our guest in the hotel. While our employee was conducting a security check for the safety of all of our guest he noticed an odor of an illegal substance and contacted the athourities due to the fact it is illegal to smoke in Hotels and Restaurants in Michigan. The authorities responded and informed us of an illegal substance in the room but the proper papaer work was present for the substance. They stated they believed someone has smoked in the room, we followed procedures and asked the guest to leave because the guest did not have the funds to pay the fine. The guest returned the next morning and contacted our front desk manager who agreed to let them return to the hotel and we did not charge them the fine for smoking in the room.

Large bathroom and very comfortable beds were a plus. We liked the pool and hot tub too. The location was very convenient to Northern Michigan University. We would definitely use this hotel again for future vists. It was a little weird that the hotel had seperate buildings which meant we had to go outside and cross the parking lot to get to the pool. Also the parking was pretty tight.
