Lots of space while you are surrounded by tree trunks 60 feet high. Well laid out and well priced with no state fee like other parks. Staff are incredibly helpful and far too perky!!! ;-) Lots of friendly campers.

Room tip: South end has industry noise during the day but not in the least excessive.

Good to stage a visit to the city. No problems. Convenient, available. Visited the big red barn lighthouse (what I call it). You can walk on the grounds for pictures of the nearby lighthouse (3 miles away) but the tour costs money.

Arrived a little late, staff were very helpful. It rained while we were away, called the staff and they zipped up our windows in the pop-up. Great place, it is in town so there is some extra noise. We were here to tour NMU, perfect spot for that. Close to campus.

We were expecting the worst, since how good could a campground be in the midst of a city? Wrong we were. Large sites for tents. No apparent vagrants. Quiet visitors. Decent hot showers. A bit dated on the facilities but everything worked fine. A great value.

My family loves Marquette. So many fun and adventurous things to do. The city camp ground is conveniently located in the city [be aware of industrial noise] and that is the only thing going for it. It has been on standby for improvements for years. The playground was built in the hay days where safety was not a major concern. The staff is run by kids that aren’t maintaining rules of the camp ground. The bathrooms are poorly outdated. When someone takes a shower the steam from the shower is like a Sauna for the entire bathroom, therefore the door to the outside is left open. Of course, the flying insects think it’s a welcome sign to enter.
On a positive side the sites are good.
Why is Marquette so stingy with money to update their only city camp ground? People from all over the state or other states come to enjoy this beautiful city and while camping it is a total let down.
