We didn't have a lot of time to go thru this, it was starting to rain and evening was fast approaching! We were coming back from the Shipwreck Tours in Munising, MI, and this was almost better than that! What a great imagination!

What an amazing place! Mr. Lakenen's talent and creativity leaves you smiling and thinking. Don't rush thru- take your time and enjoy not only the sculptures but the beauty of the surrounding forest. You can either drive or walk thru. I recommend walking. That way you can walk around the sculptures and often find things you normally would not see if driving. (Such as a tool sticking out of one of the lumberjack's back pocket.) There is an outdoor toilet which we took to be unisex. It too is creative and amusing. The park is free but donations are accepted. There is an outdoor stage where local musicians play on Sunday afternoons during the summer. Definitely well worth the time!

If you can plan to do this, get up to Lakenenland the weekend of their free music festival/fundraiser next year. Went there and camped while the festival was going on and had a blast. Art is a personal thing and reactions are personal, but it is way more then just the sculptures. It is a community gift of love showing the generosity and passion of Tom and his family. The music venue consisting of young Marquette musicians was outstanding. The cedar bog walk was beautiful and smelled wonderful. There were wild blueberries to pick. There is a hiking trail next to it that goes through the entire state and Tom has created a place for hikers to rest. What one man can do if he has a dream to do it with lots of hard work. Worth a visit. The firepits are far enough away from where we camped that it did not effect my breathing health. and its across the street from Lake Superior. Do I need to say more?

This attraction create figures by welding metal. In my opinion, this is very junky and a waste of time. I would not make this a must see. There are better things to see in Marquette

My husband talked about this place and we finally took the time to stop. The sculptures are incredible and some are very detailed. Take the time to look closely and find the detail in the sculptures. Also look for the messages the owner is sending through his art. From Thought provoking to downright hilarious. The owner is clearly a proud American and I left with a good feeling. Good old fashioned fun. Donations accepted but not accepted. No ladies room but the men's room was so interesting my husband invited me for a look.
