“Lovely hotel, think twice about the lower level rooms.”
Reviewed August 10, 2013

Beautiful hotel inside and out. Perfect location, nice and close to the downtown shops and restaurants. Right on the water with a sandy beach for swimming. Breakfast was excellent and the hot foods different each day of our 2 day stay. We paid the extra for a beach front walkout which was nice except that these rooms and ours especially (1012) was right under the kitchen and deliveries there appear to start very early in the morning. I was woken at approx 6:00am by the noise made by the kitchen staff dropping what sounded like many boxes on the floor right above our heads . Over our 2 night stay the sound was constant and heard by all member of our family. A complaint to front desk staff got me an apology, but the problem continued through to the next day. If you really want to stay in one of the walk-out rooms I would suggest you talk to staff and find out which room is the farthest from the kitchen, they are really beautiful rooms but not worth the extra they charge for them when you don't have the luxury of sleeping in while on holiday. I loved the hotel though and would stay there again, I just would not stay in one of the lower level rooms.

A very nice hotel, clean with a waterfront view.
The included breakfast was very good albeit a Grizzly couldn't chew the sausage. The only other thing was the salt water pool that, when you walked into the pool/spa room, smelled like you walked into a chlorine vat.
Other than that I would still recommend the hotel,

Room Tip: The view of the lake is beautiful but if you are not an early riser, get a city view room and hope t...

I was born and raised in Marquette, MI and had not been back for several years until recently attending my high school reunion. The Hampton Inn in Marquette, Mi exceeded my expectations across the board. First, it has turned the downtown ore dock which was not a desirable area into a gorgeous waterfront property while beautiful views of Lake Superior! Second, the bike paths and wildflowers along with the revitalization of downtown Marquette in general make it the only place to stay because you have access to the shopping, restaurants, Mattson Park, marina, and the paved path which takes you all the way out to Presque Isle. Third, the staff is super friendly and the property is so clean every where you look. I love the fresh coffee all day and cookies in the late afternoon.

Room Tip: Get a lake view room.

A top notch hotel in a prime location right on the Marquette waterfront. It is close to everything, yet it is set in a very relaxing environment. The views from the deck are terrific! All the amenities of this hotel are very nice. We will be back and we definitely recommend this Hampton Inn.

This has a great location with great views of the lake. The staff is very friendly and helpful. It is very close to everything downtown as well. It was certainly not the cheapest hotel in the area but well worth it considering the location and value.

I always try to stay at a Hampton Inn when I can, however, the Hampton Inn located in Marquette , Michigan does not serve this franchise well. There is nothing special about this motel. It's location on the lake does NOT warrant it's extremely high prices. There is no restaurant and it's beach is ugly and dirty. Do some shopping, there are plenty of nice motels and B&B's on the water in the Marquette area. It's like paying twenty bucks for a Big Mac because the MacDonald's is on the lake. Visitors beware of this place, the only positive thing one can say about this motel is that it's "NEW".

Room Tip: Away from the elevator.

There's a lot of natural beauty in the UP, but not much upscale amenities. I miss that and found what I needed in the Marquette Hampton Inn. It'a a beautiful place in a great town and I loved everything about our stay.
