“Best Hotel in Manistique Period.”
Reviewed August 27, 2009

This summer my wife and eight year old son took a road trip from MN to Michigan. We did not have hotel reservations and no plan. We decided to call it a night one Thursday evening in Manistique. After literally stopping at each hotel on "Main Road" in Manistique to get prices and to check available accomodations, we stopped in to the Gray Wolf Lodge. Where other hotels with no pool or spa and only smoking rooms were charging in the $100 range we get an exceptionally clean, quiet and spacious room at Gray Wolf for $69. The pool and spa were great, although there were other guests we had the facility all to ourselves. The view out our window of Lake MIchigan was amazing. The owner was very friendly and the location was as convenient as it gets. The exterior looks new and is well kept up and there is ample parking. They don't provide a "Free" Breakfast which probably contributes toward the good prices and which is fine with me since a waffle maker is not what I look for in a hotel.

The location is ideal. The hotel is clean, neat and quiet. It has its own beach on the boardwalk. the beaches around this city are beautiful. The Cafe next door has outstanding food. Attractions surround the city.

We stayed at the Gray Wolf Lodge and found it to be a great price and the room ( 1 King Bed) was very clean.
The bath was clean and stocked well with towels, hair dryer and soap and shampoo dispenser in the shower.
They have a pool and spa also. The pool area is in a different building so you have to walk a short distance . It is outside entry rooms. The pool was very clean also but a bit cold so we were unable to get in. We did enjoy the hot tub. The pool area has a small game room large bathrooms and a large table and chairs area. The only negative was a very loud noise coming from the heater room inside the pool area. They do not usually allow dogs but made an exception due to the winter months. I would love it if they could allow dogs and limit it to a few rooms. That way people with dogs could stay and people with a concerns of allergies could stay in a room that doesn't allow dogs. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The view from our room was great Looking out across the street is the water and in the summer it shows a beach area for hotel guests.I would definatlely stay again. The hotel does not have continental breakfast but a Big Boy is close by. There is a restaurant right next door but is closed in winter months. It was called 3 seasons restaurant.
