We stayed in the hotel and not the cabins, which are newer. We were not given a written confirmation, as the staff said they do not send them. I checked a couple of weeks out, and they had booked the wrong dates for me. In spite of having a confirmation number, it took some time to rebook with correct dates and price. The bathroom floor was sticky, the wallpaper was peeling off the walls, and we were booked into a room based on them thinking we had a dog?? We had asked for an upper floor, which we were not given. The walls were paper thin. We tried to cut one day off a three-day reservation, and we were told we would have to pay for the third night if we left. The breakfast room was dirty, and the food/coffee was not replenished on a regular basis. The breakfast room served many guests, but it appeared one employee had to handle the entire area. I would not recommend or stay here again.

Room Tip: Rooms toward the back are quieter, but log cabins are newer. I would recommend top floor. We had n...

Rooms are older. Location was nice, right across the street from the boats to the island. Offers an indoor water park and outdoor pool. If you don't plan on spending a lot of money or time in your room, this is a decent place to stay

Rude desk clerk. Did not stay in newer cabins, but in room remodeled, in part, to look like a cabin. The bathroom was not remodeled and was dirty. We had to ask for new bedding as the ones on the bed were stained. We arranged for the room about a week in advance (thinking the price would be cheaper than what we would get upon arrival). This proved to be wrong. The folks registering ahead of us (on the night of their arrival to the city) got their room for nearly $60 less a night. The manager refused to honor a price adjustment.

Room Tip: If you need an economy room, don't be fooled. This was no bargain.

We stayed with six adults in one of the separate cabins. It was $300 a night which when split between the 3 couples wasn't bad, but still kind of pricey. Cabins were very clean, but not overly huge. We had the upstairs loft room which wasn't overly private. Lighting was absolutely terrible with only a few lamps. We had to go to front desk to ask for additional towels, but when maid cleaned the next day she only left us 1, which there were 4 to begin with. I would probably stay there again, but would possibly compare with other places first. Breakfast buffet was not anything to brag about.

We stayed here for a night on the way home from a trip to the UP. The decor of the inside of the room itself looked like it had been recently redone and kind of had a cabin feel to it. The bathroom though looked like it had not been updated in a while and was sort of dirty and out of date looking. The bath faucet was tough to tell if you were turning it off and my wife actually came close to burning herself(the water can get EXTREMELY hot, apparently they don't have the water heater regulated). The room did have a jacuzzi which was nice and we got passes to the water park, but we didn't use it. Surprisingly even though it looked as if the room had recently been remodeled, there was not any other outlets besides the two by the bed, which were all in use, for plugging stuff into like cell phones/computers. WIFI was sketchy and slow as it is shared with the hotel next door. Didn't end up taking advantage of the breakfast as it was only available from 6-8:30, even though check-out time isn't until 11.

There are better hotels in Mackinaw for around the same price, I wouldn't recommend this one.

My wife and I stayed for two nights while visiting Mackinac Island. The motel is located right across from the Star Line Ferry to Mackinac Island, which is very convenient. Our ground floor two bed room was clean, large and had a porch with two chairs. Parking is in front of your room. If you have problems climbing stairs, get a ground floor room, because the stairs to the second floor are a hard climb. They didn’t provide a hair dryer, but I asked for one at the front desk, it was to be returned at check out. A free copy of; US Today is also available in the front office in the morning. Breakfast was the usual Choice Hotels fare. The breakfast area is very large, clean and is located above the water park. It is well supplied with scrambled eggs, biscuits and gravy, waffles, cereal, etc. The breakfast area is shared with two other motels and can become crowded later in the morning, so go early. The Econo Lodge also shares a large indoor water park with Comfort Suites which is on the same property. You will receive wrist bands for free use of the water park at check in. If you are travelling with children and/or teenagers this is a large bonus for staying at this Econo Lodge. The AARP rate through comforthotels.com is very reasonable for a motel that is located in the downtown area. My wife and I were very satisfied with our stay at this Econo Lodge, we will return.

We booked (2) 2 bedroom cabins (with sitting rooms) next to each other, because we had dogs with us. They gave us just one key for each cabin...then proceeded to give out a "master" key to
someone checking in ---FOR OUR ROOM! These patrons walked right into our room! And we had dogs! There could have been a castrophe! The manager apologized and took a small amount off our bill, but I don't think I will stay there again.
