We stayed one night as usual to attend the Fort Fright event. Our room was not ready on time as they promised. People everywhere were not getting into their room on time. This makes one late for getting to an event.Three towels only for four people. One roll of toilet paper. I know this is their final weekend before closing down for the winter but they really need to manage better. In our case we were happy with the closeness to the fort. But for the high price they charge it should be ready on time or else give us money off. That is ridiculous. It just seems poorly managed and the lady at the desk can only do so much. Why are all the rooms getting cleaned at 4 pm? Not god P.R. We will look at another motel for next year because its not worth the hassle. I hope they improve because I know it could be a great place. Poor management.

My husband and I had a 4 night stay here in early October. In a nutshell...the room was filthy. The rug needed to be vacuumed, I found a dead bug in the bathroom, the in-room coffee pot was caked w/ dried crusting and the most important hand rail in the "handicapped accessible" tub was broken off and not replaced. The handicapped tub was a necessity and had been requested months in advance w/ our reservation. The most significant issue w/ the room was the air conditioner-heater. It was caked w/ dead bugs and black mold. It was indescribable. I had to make quite a "big deal" out of getting sanitary conditions in our room. I do not know if the room condition was due to poorly trained staff, poor supervision or staff not being allowed sufficient time to actually keep the facility up to an acceptable standard. There was a pool but we did not use it for two reasons. First due to our concern w/ the poor cleanliness we did not want to trust the condition of the pool and also, and this makes no sense...the handicapped room was in a separate building from the pool. My husband would have had to walked, with his walker, in the cold rain from one building to another while wet from the pool. There was no way to get from our room to the pool except by going outside. In fairness I must compliment the morning breakfast hostesses, they were very kind and did a great job. The breakfast was wonderful. Would I stay here or recommend this hotel...no way!

Room Tip: Do not sign in until you ask to actually see the room....and check that A/C-heater unit!!!
