What a great ride out under the bridge. The views were amazing and we got over to the island quickly. Really good facilities on both sides of the trip. We all felt very safe the whole time.

Didn't want Valet,once i realized that's what the dock workers were rushing us through and into,I let it go.It's gonna rain on our departure date,so it will be nice.WRONG ! My car was nowhere near the dock or boat when we arrived .After walking through the lot looking for my car, in the rain,I find my car,with no help from staff.As far from the dock as it could get.The drivers door was open ! I was also charged for luggage service ,i didn't ask for,want or need ! Have used Arnolds for years.Figured i'd try something different.What a mistake.Got taken for a ride ,in more ways than on the boat.Never been treated like that from either of the other two ferry companies.I've rode all three now.Will go back to the others.This was the first and last ride i will ever let shepler give me !
It is most unfortunate that your experience with Shepler's was not as you had hoped. We have responded to you by mail with a refund for your tickets. Further, we have enclosed, in that mailing, VIP tickets for you to use on your next Island visit.
We do have some confusion when it comes to the luggage charge you mentioned, as we do not charge for luggage transportation to and from Mackinac Island. Once on the Island, the various hotels have porters on our dock that will take your luggage to your hotel. Each hotel is different in their charge for luggage handling.
We realize the ferry boat ride to and from Mackinac Island is a big part of the overall Island experience and it is our strongest desire to make that experience an enjoyable one.

We were all quite pleased with the ferry ride. Having been to Mackinac Island before, it was pretty much as expected. What we were quite pleased with was the crew. From the shuttle service to the end of our return trip, each crew member was very courteous! KUDOS to Shepler's. We will certainly use them again!
For $25 each we got a round trip ride to and from Mackinac island. The boat was clean and stable. The lake was very calm the day we went, but the boat seemed very seaworthy. Great views of the Mackinac bridge and lighthouses. the ride is only like 15-20 minutes, but is pleasant. I would recommend Sheplers ferry
Great ferry service! Well trained crews and well maintained ships. On the way to the Island they take a slight detour so you can view the bridge from the bottom, and some history of the bridge and area. They have an excellent system for handling baggage to/from the Island, and for valet parking/pick up.
