Owner description: Experience World Champion Lumberjacks in a fast paced action packed lumberjack competition, a Mackinaw City MUST SEE! Shows at Jack Pine Lumberjack Shows are approximately an hour long, delivered in a competition format, in which the audience is divided up into two rival logging camps, each camp cheering for their lumberjack. It demostrates the turn of the century skills of the lumberjack including chopping, sawing, axe throwing, cross-cut sawing, speed climbing and logrolling. In addition to the competition, there is also a chain saw carving demonstration. The show educates the audience in the rich history of Michigan's logging past. It is fast paced, up-beat and keeps the audience involved. A fun show for the entire family, children under the age of 5 are free!

We enjoyed watching all of the contests the lumberjacks had and their silly humor. It was fun for all ages and was very entertaining. We would definitely recommend this attraction!

I first saw the show in Alaska when we took our cruise, I found out that the Man who help start that one was now running this one. He is one of the nicest people you'll ever meet! The show was awesome, entertaining, funny. We had a party of 10 ppl, 8 had never seen it, 3 were teenagers, and they all loved it!!!

We were looking for something to do on a chilly, somewhat drizzly evening. The brochure for the Jack Pine Lumberjack show, that said they performed "rain or shine," so we went. The cost was reasonable ($10, with a $1 coupon in the brochure we got in the hotel lobby). The audience sits in covered bleachers (seats for probably about 200-300), so we were protected from the light drizzle. The show pairs two lumberjacks against one another in about 10 events, such as pole-climbing, log rolling, sawing, axe-throwing, boom-running, etc. Some events ended up with one or both landing in the water. The audience is divided so that you cheer for one or the other of the two competitors. There is some audience participation, and the show moves along nicely. My wife and I found it to be very entertaining and informative. It lasts about 1 hour. We enjoyed it just as a couple, but there were quite a few families there, and the kids seemed to like it very much. We drove from Petoskey and felt the show was worth the trip.
