Owner description: Sail the Straits of Mackinac! Sixteen historic lighthouses lie within easy cruising distance of Mackinaw City. Travel in comfort and safety on Shepler's spacious vessels during these fascinating tours. For close to three centuries, the Straits of Mackinac has been a vital nautical thoroughfare, providing passage between Lakes Huron and Michigan. But traveling its famed blue waters has not come without risk. Over the many decades, lighthouses were built to protect mariners from dangerous shoals and reefs. Each has a story to tell. Shepler's exclusive Lighthouse Cruises are voyages of discovery. Guests are treated to awe-inspiring views and the fascinating history surrounding these Great Lakes guardians.

I went on the extended east cruise. We had a beautiful calm sunny day. I can't wait to go back and see some of the other lighthouse's you can only see by boat!

We took the July 4th cruise under the bridge and then remained in the lake to view the fireworks. The crew was very helpful and friendly. They set us up for a great view of the fireworks. If you are at all interested in architecture and engineering be sure to take a cruise that goes under the bridge! I found that very fascinating. A very unique perspective!

The Shepler Ferry in Mackinaw City is the best transportation to the island. Friendly staff, knowledgable of the city, island activities and the rates are extremely affordable, by far the best ferry to travel. we have taken both Westbound and this year the eastbound Lighthouse Cruises are an absolute must. The knowledge that Terry shares on the cruises of each lighthouse and it's history is undeniably, and masterfully illustrated with great precision and expertise that capitivate us with and to each lighthouse. The view is so serene and picturesque. Must be a bucket list to do when visiting Mackinaw. They give you much history on the building of the Mackinaw Bridge as well. Just love the Shepler Staff and Crew.

We did not have the opportunity to take the lighthouse cruise however we did take Shepler's to and from Mackinaw Island. The company's staff is some of the most polite and courteous of any staff that we have seen that cater to tourist. They are in fact fantastic. From the time we entered the parking lot , to the purchase of tickets, everyone was super nice. The boat are clean, and appear to be well maintained. We enjoyed our round trip to the island an the next time we are in the area we pane on taking one of the boat tours.
