My husband and I stayed here one night. The view of the bridge is fantastic but the motel is very basic. No refrigerator or microwave in the room. I thought that was a basic in a motel room in 2013. The beds were the worst. It felt like me were sleeping on the box springs. No breakfast is offered either. This place is not one I would stay at again.

The Riviera Motel is a simple place, clean but nothing fancy. Its best feature is its wonderful location on the shores of the Straits of Mackinac with a fantastic view of the bridge. It is located near the historic fort and next to a lighthouse museum. A short walk takes you to the downtown area for shopping and the ferry boats to Mackinac Island.

The Riviera is in an awesome location if your a mackinaw bridge lover. It is right there and in the middle of the park! It is very different if you are accustomed to staying at chains like holiday inn etc. I rarely stay at independent motels so it was very unique to me. Clean rooms. Owners are very kind. Probably not a place for kids... We brought our kids before and they did not like it. We did not see any kids during this stay either.

The Riviera is a lovely independently owned hotel. It sits between two parks and has incredible views of the bridge. You can walk out the back gate of the property and right into a park on the water of the Straits. The property is within walking distance of the "main drag" of Mackinaw City. The room was actually quite spacious and impeccably clean. My teenagers enjoyed the pool and I enjoyed the views from the pool. We had no problems with Internet access. I loved the free coffee in the office in the morning. The owners were friendly and helpful. We will definitely be going back to the Riviera. We wouldn't want to stay anywhere else in Mackinaw.

Great location in between two parks at the foot of the Mackinaw Bridge. We could sit on the balcony and watch the Saturday night fireworks across the bridge in St Ignace. Loved the location. The facility itself is old or I like to say vintage, but very clean. The hotel is owner operated, and the owners were helpful with tips for the area. The view is the best part of this hotel...enjoyed our stay and will stay here again.

Room Tip: I would ask for a room that views the bridge.

We usually visit the Mackinaw City area in September, but this year was late April. Many hotels/motels in town open in May, so there weren't many options available to us, other than some national chains -- but the "mom-and-pop" Riviera came through. Charming '60s vintage bathroom with original gold starburst decor and fittings. Friendly owner-operator. Clean and comfortable. Ample parking, convenient location to anything in Mackinaw City, park the car and just walk. But the best part about the Riviera is the on-beach location on Lake Huron next to a park and the Old Mackinaw Point lighthouse -- and facing the Mighty Mackinac Bridge. What an amazing 24/7 view! We could have stared at the bridge for hours. I bet this motel is impossible to get into during peak season, so book early. And the rate was good, too. Just fantastic. P.S. There's a pool overlooking the beach, which I'm sure would have been lovely had it been ready for the season, and warmer than 50 degrees. Our neighbor ran the A/C all night (why???), by the way, and it was actually pretty loud, although we kept the windows closed.

This motel was recommended to us by an uncle who says this is his go-to place when they are in Mackinaw. It's right on the beach with a view of the Mackinac Bridge! Lawn chairs are set up along the porch area outside the rooms to relax. Pool was fun for the kids, rooms were adequate. I thought that the vintage pink tile and decor in the bathroom was charming and clean. This place is within walking distance for us to walk into town for restaurants, shops and the ferry boats. There is no breakfast, but they do offer coffee in the morning in the office.

Room Tip: Best view is the room on the end with private porch overlooking the lake and bridge.
