Owner description: It's a different perspective from the palisade walls. Treasures from the past come to life at this 18th-century fort and fur trading village. Reconstructed based on historic maps and more than 50 years of archaeological excavations that continue today, Colonial Michilimackinac offers a one-of-a-kind experience from cannon and musket firings to hearth cooking and crafts. Located on the shore of the Straits of Mackinac, visitors of all ages can enjoy the unique perspective from the palisade walls. This is Mackinac.

My daughter and husband really enjoyed this. I don't like history that much. the gun firing was cool and walking on the top deck around the fort was cool. it was neat that you could see the lake also.

The kids really enjoyed the rifle and cannon demos, and the little playground! You can't spend hours and hours here, but a fun stop none the less.

We thoroughly enjoyed touring Colonial Michillimackinac. The ticket agent helped us decide to purchase tickets that allowed us to visit 3 attractions at a savings over buying individual tickets. The "old" Fort was the best of the 3. The reenactors were friendly, funny, engaging, and knowledgeable. We saw the cannon fire out front and then went inside the fort to learn about and see a flint rifle fire. We participated in a music and dancing session. The ongoing archeological dig and exhibits about it were fascinating. A great family activity.

Good visit. Informative, historic. Friendly staff. Short on reenactors but the ones there did a very good job of reenactment, explanations, demonstrations & such. Worth the price. ( a little pricy but money goes to a very good organization.
Bring Camera!
