We generally don't like staying in hotels, but I would stay here anytime. It was one of the cleanest hotels I've been in. The beds were extremely comfortable with the fitted sheet fitting nice and tight on the mattress - no bunching. The service was good and the location was very convenient. We didn't have to use any public restrooms because we could just head back to our room for a quick bio-break. It's also right across from both ferry docks which means you can easily carry your own luggage to the room and save on using a service.

Room Tip: We had a room facing main street, which is what I would request.

My wife and I stayed at the Pontiac Lodge from July 17 thru July 21. We really enjoyed our stay. Our room was very nice, the staff was very friendly and helpful. There was secure parking for our two bikes, one of which is a tandem. Our room was very spacious and had a nice view of main street and we could also see the water. We really enjoyed our vacation and will definitely stay here again.

This was a great "affordable" place to stay for our family. Everything is expensive in Mackinac, so we were excited about the price that eebpaid to stay here. We only stayed one night but it was worth it. The location is right in the heart of all the action. The hotel was clean and nicely updated. It is a second story hotel which is a little bit of a pain with the luggage, but your on an island without cars, nothing was easy! The people were very friendly.

We stayed at the Pontiac Lodge in July 2013. We were only on the island for one evening with our two daughters. The Pontiac Lodge was in an ideal location immediately across the street from the Shepler Ferry dock and within walking distance of all of the Island restaurants and activities. There was also a bike rack tucked away behind the building for guests to keep their bikes if needed. We stayed in room 21 which looked over the main strip. The decor of the room was very crisp and clean with a nautical theme. The room was good sized, plenty of room for two double beds and a nice minibar. The bathroom was clean and sufficiently sized. I believe it was a shower only (no tub) which was fine for us. The room was nicely equipped with a new flat screen TV. The room was plenty quiet and we didn't notice any excessive noise even though we were right above the main drag. Also - just as a side note - I appreciated being able to reserve a specific room on the website. I would certainly recommend the Pontiac Lodge to friends visiting the Island.

We spent the 4th of July weekend on Mackinac Island and stayed at the Pontiac Lodge. It's small, but the rooms were fresh and updated. Our room (Room 25) had a microwave, mini fridge and Jacuzzi tub - we used them all! It was nice to have air conditioning. Minimal staff, but that didn't matter to us at all. The location is right on Main Street and directly across from the pier where Shepler's ferry let us off from our trip over from St. Ignace. So convenient for shopping, night life and restaurants. We brought our bikes and biked and hiked all over the island. We were right on Hoban Street, so it was a bit noisy late at night (the 1am - 2am crowd) on Friday night...but again it didn't bother us. However if you like quiet, you may want to stay in an inner room.

Room Tip: If you want a room with a Jacuzzi, stay in Room 25. But as mentioned above, it was a bit noisy with late night partiers.
