This marked our 9th year on the island and three years staying at Market Street Inn and I still will not go to no other lodging on the island Kristen makes you feel like you are at home and always welcome. The rooms are great and just the right size and so is the breakfast it holds us over till lunch as we go exploring the island right after breakfast and sometimes do not get back till 2 or 3 in the afternoon where fudge and cookies are waiting for us and if we want a cup of tea or hot cocoa even coffee the beverage center is always open for us. We love going in the fall as it is not as crowded and the shops are having great sales and the trees are so beautiful. The weather is cool and brisk great for hiking the island this year we found so many trails and landmarks we have never seen it still hold many more secerts for a small island it has alot to do love it. I want to mention one more thing about our great hostess Kristen the day we left we decided to do alittle shopping in Mackinaw City we were alittle late getting to the ferry as we usually take a earlier ferry to get exploring on the island sooner but did not get there till the 1:30 ferry the weather that day was very very windy and they had to cancel the trip and did not know if they could run but at 2:30 they decided to run it was a bumpie trip but we make it when we docked I got a phone call from Kristen wondering what had happen to us she was waiting for us and was worried she could not believe the ferry did not run. That was up and beyound her duty as a hostess it made us feel great I consider her not only our innkeeper but our friend. Cant wait till next year see you soon.

Market Street Inn had everything my friend and I were looking for on our recent trip to Mackinac Island. The location is perfect for those looking for a quiet place to stay away from Main Street. Kristin and her staff are pleasant and helpful and went out of their way to make us and all of their guests comfortable. To top off our wonderful experience, we met a delightful couple (Mary Jo and Greg) from Bay City who shared their 26 years of Island experience and knowledge with us which made our two stay even more enjoyable. The only thing we would do different is upgrade to the King size room or Garden Suite.

Having stayed in four other establishments on the island, including the Grand Hotel, I can tell you there is none more comfortable, or more inviting than "Market Street Inn". Not only poised right just one block up from Main Street and one-half block from Marquette Park (the park just below Fort Mackinac), it is not only warm and comfortable but convenient to everything Mackinac has to offer. Kristin did everything anyone could to make us feel comfortable and interacted with us as if we were one of the "regulars" tho we were there for our first time. We had the "Garden Suite" -- a suite (separate bedroom from a small living room) on the lowest level with a small kitchen, a small bathroom with a shower, refrigerator, microwave and snacks. All were spotless and comfortable. This is a real find for me as I have been to the island many times and not found anything so nice and reasonably priced. You'll never want to stay anywhere else, unless you get the yearn to spend the really big bucks and experience the Grand Hotel (a really fantastic experience, but only for the "deep pockets"). This was more than enough for my comforts!

If you are looking for peace and quiet, the The Market Street Inn is for you. Clean, comfortable, and welcoming. Kristen & staff are like wonderful friends. You choose what you want for breakfast from an ample list and it is served in the private courtyard, the parlor, or your room at the time you choose. This was our second stay, and both visits were great.

Everything you thought about was taken care of. Close to downtown yet removed from a lot of activity. Really relaxing! Kristen gave us a great overview to make our first stay on the Island very enjoyable.

This was our first time staying on Mackinac Island overnight and our first B&B stay - the bar has been set high. Sparkling clean and fresh, homey touches of free cookies and fudge waiting for you at check-in, the Market Street Inn hits all of the targets in hospitality. Near the "action" on Main Street but pleasantly quiet in the evenings, the Inn serves as the perfect base of a Mackinac vacation. Anyone who stays here will not regret it - it's a gem!

Room Tip: Room 9 (King Jacuzzi) is beautiful!

We were pleased with our three days at the Market Street Inn. Kristen and her staff do a very good job of making all the guests feel special. We spent our first night in #9 with the jacuzzi -- very special. The next two nights were spent in the queen room #2. Nice room, but a bit small. Our only suggestion would be for a more varied continental breakfast menu, not noticeable on a one or two night stay, but quite obvious for anything longer.

Room Tip: Room 2 is essentially a handicap room with 36" doors vs the typical 30" and the bathroom...
