Description: This popular Mackinac Island eatery features a celebratory horse theme starring the 1938 true life story of the famous champion thoroughbred, Seabiscuit. The former 1800's bank building was renovated to reveal the original brick walls and hardwood floors transforming it into one of Mackinac Island’s most popular watering holes. A unique and casual menu appropriately fits this cozy café. Seabiscuit fans rave about the deliciously fresh menu options. Discover your new favorite cocktail, the Mamosa. Open 7am until 2am serving breakfast, lunch, dinner, and creative cocktails.

Went a couple times while on the island. Food was great. Had the Triple Crown club sandwich and the fish ruben. Very good. The only complaint was that the first night the service was great, but the second night we got a different waiter and the service was so-so. The waiter from the first night was there the second night but we sat at a different table. Guess we should have switched seats.

The wait is worth it here. A smaller quaint establishment. The food and service were both top notch. One of my favorite placed to eat on the island.

We had lunch at Seabiscuit Cafe and had a really good meal. We had lunch at 2:00 PM and had to wait about 10 minutes for a table. The wait staff was attentive and friendly. The derby burger and chicken gyro were excellent. All 6 of us were happy with our meals. That's saying something!

Interesting decor that would have been more inviting the front door was closed as it was chilly and breezy at our table, the hostess was lovely and we did not wait long for a table. We split the stuffed french toast and they proceeded a second plate with no problem. Having a dairy free milk for coffee would have been nice.

A single bathroom for women is inadequate and creates a li e which detracts from the atmosphere- but overall we were satisfied and would go back.

There are not that many places to have breakfast on the island but we would find another place for breakfast the next time we go. I had biscuits and gravy. The gravy wasn't bad but the biscuits were tough. My husband had a "skillet" and everything was just a blob all melted together and very greasy. He described it as the worst breakfast he'd ever eaten, and that's saying something. I don't like to give poor reviews but people should know what they are getting into when they walk in the door.
