We sat outdoors for lunch overlooking the hillside from the Grand Hotel. We had lobster chowder, burgers, fries, salads, freshly made potato chips, lobster rolls and good ice cream for dessert. Again the wine flowed and the service was very good. We did not need reservations on a Friday and were able to catch a taxi back down to town very quickly.

We were staying at the Grand and didn't want to do the five-course meal, so we showed up without a reservation. Once the host ascertained we were guests at the Grand, we were ushered to a patio table and seated immediately. We ordered drinks, which carried the expected Grand Hotel price tag, and ordered the blue cheese chips. These were freshly made, extremely thin and crispy chips, topped not only with chunk blue cheese, but also melted blue cheese. The chips were delicious and here were enough to fill both my lovely wife and myself up with some left on the plate. It is a great place to go for a snack. The waitstaff treats you like royalty and it was a fantastic experience.

We spent every afternoon here while on the island, either for a quick lunch, an afternoon beer and on one occassion, dinner, too. Its the perfect spot to people watch and with the great upper Michigan weather, just hang out. Nice selection of foods for lunch and dinner as well as a nice beer list for those so inclined.

After a wonderful bike ride around the island, our group decided to have lunch here. The view was gorgeous, the breeze perfect after the ride, and the service very prompt. I truly enjoyed the food, cocktails, and company. Would definitely eat here again! Thank you!
