“Delightful Getaway”

We were very pleased with our room which was upgraded to a water-view. The hotel offers a high level of service, helping with tour info, dinner reservations, taxi's (horse-drawn carriages!), etc. It's a wonderful retreat all by itself but also offers an excellent location for enjoying the island. Don't miss their restaurant - best food on the harbor!

This summer we again did our nearly yearly visit to the Hotel Iroquois ... and loved it again! It was the first time we've had one of the three first-floor rooms opening to the wide deck, with the very comfy lounge furniture, overlooking the gardens. Great place to relax and read between bike rides and fudge-shop runs. Yes, you also face the big white wall of Mary's Bistro from this vantage point. But it didn't bother us at all. Sealed us off kind of nicely, in fact, from the often manic Main Street scene. This year we also decided to take more advantage of the delightful bar in the Iroquois' Carriage House restaurant. Nice cocktails and fun chatting with the fellow tipplers from places far and wide. DEFINITELY recommended. A different experience from the Grand Hotel -- calmer, quieter, its own special vibe. Both wonderful in their own ways.

Pride in ownership. Front desk is happy to help altho uneven on island retail, services and dining. No concerns for cleanliness. Each room is unique - so be specific in your needs. Great views from some of the rooms, esp. on second and third floors. Garden rooms may lack view but gain space and balcony. The room/turn down unmatched. At the end of the main strip, which means it is quiet with a small park next door. An easy walk to everything. Star Lines ferry is just two doors away. You could stay for less but it just wouldn't be as relaxing and have all the comforts. Our choice since 1981.

It is just the perfect spot on the island. They are right on Main Street and yet have nice water views from many of the rooms. We have stayed in many different rooms but the Biddle suites are my favorite. They also have a great patio area for dining and the food is great. We had the nicest server, we were there for my birthday and she made it a perfect day by being so attentive. They always make you feel special here!

Room Tip: I think every room has it's own charm -

My husband and I recently stayed in the Tower Suite at the Hotel Iroquios. We were celebrating our anniversary and wanted to stay somewhere special---and we certainly did. My husband had a unique request for the staff, specifically that they find a florist to recreate my wedding bouquet. They did, and truthfully the bouquet was possibly even more beautiful than the original. It was waiting for me with a handwritten note when we arrived. The room is lovely and clean; the views are spectacular; and the service is exceptional. We don't want to leave. But our consolation is that we will definitely be back again next year, and hopefully for many years to come. My husband and I have traveled around the world and have stayed at many fine hotels, and the Hotel Iroquois is one of our favorites.

If you are going to Mackinaw Island look no further. The Hotel Iroquois is fantastic and the service is wonderful. Forget the Grand and just stay here. I am a very picky hotel guest and the staff and service here was outstanding. If it is your first time on the island you need to understand that you are not going to find a Ritz, St Regis or Peninsula on the island. You will instead find a boutique resort with a great deal of charm. Close enough to the action but located on the transition point that offers a beautiful view of the water and keeps you near the fun of the town.

Room Tip: pick a room on the lake side for views and make sure you have a room with A/C in the summer. There a...

This was our first time to Hotel Iroquois and Mackinac Island. The hotel was perfect. Bathroom fixtures are modern, decor is quaint and tasteful, beds comfortable, good quality linens. Staff was absolutely wonderful. Location is very convenient. We took Shepler's Ferry, and our luggage was picked up and delivered promptly. We had waterfront view, second floor, which is very scenic and relaxing. Our first night was Saturday and the patio was a little noisy from restaurant patrons, but absolutely quiet at 11PM. Also, first night the room above was excessively noisy, we think from a young child jumping on the bed and then jumping onto the floor. Sounded like the ceiling would cave in and the room actually shook. We called front desk, and noise immediately stopped. Had dinner in restaurant, excellent food and service, though a little pricey. We had such a wonderful time! Can't wait to return to the island and Hotel Iroquois!
