The views were amazing but the food was below average. Our waiter was super cool and carried the food on top of his head. That was the highlight for my 4 year old!

“Cannot beat this view!”
Reviewed September 16, 2013

Fort Mackinac Tea Room is wonderful! This was our second visit here. The host (I'm sorry I do not remember his name) makes the best chocolate milkshakes in the world! We had a light lunch as to save room for our shakes! We remembered our host from 3 years ago! He brought out a special dessert and sang to my parents, they were celebrating their 42nd wedding anniversary. A very special touch! It's so nice when people go out of their way to make your day!

The food was good too and service great! And did I mention the views????

We stopped here for a drink and snacks during our tour of the Fort. Nice place to stop and take a break for not a lot of money. The view is amazing!

“Loved It”

We sat after our tour and had coffee and a danish while looking out over the island and the bay. A tall ship had come in that day so we enjoyed taking pictures from such a great vantage point

“Does this restaurant have a scenic view?”
Reviewed September 8, 2013

It's all about the view. You can't beat it. Looking out over the city, the marina, lighthouses, and the water. This time was could even see a game of 1860's baseball being played in front of the Grand Hotel which is about a 1/2 mile away. We love the view. We even paid the entry fee to the Fort primarily to eat at the Tea Room. The food and the service is ok but that's not what it's about. It's all about the view. The waitstaff was attentive and met standard. I remember the menu being a little more connected to the Fort at one time but I may be mistaken. For example, they have Hummus now. Not something that would have been served at the Fort. This time my wife and I ordered the ham and cheese sandwich and a bowl of Broccoli Cheese soup which were both very good. We shared them and had plenty to eat for the two of us. The sandwich came with chips, pickles, and a fresh fruit cup. We had been in a race earlier in the day and we both went through many glasses of water and lemon-aid which helped rehydrate us. We were good and did not order the Grand Pecan Ball which we have had in the past and really enjoyed. The weather was perfect and the bright yellow umbrellas kept off the afternoon sun. It was a good day to be on the Island and eating at the restaurant with the best view in town.
