This was the worst hotel room we have stayed in during the last 40 years. However, my husband said he stayed in a similar room in Lodi years ago. I admit that the view was nice and the location was convenient. The staff were also nice. The room itself was small and dingy. The bedskirt was hanging out on the floor. The bathroom was small and we avoided the shower. I don't know how this hotel could be two stars. We stayed in other hotels for the same price and they were much nicer. Park of the problem was that it looked okay on the outside. That made it all the more shocking when we saw the room.

Room Tip: we had a water view but it was not a good room-

We got there and office is like a daycare center, kids running and screaming everywhere while we tried to check in. A storm came through town and knocked out power to motel. Asked owner if they planned on getting electricity back that night, was assured they would. By 9pm still no power, searched lobby and motel for owner to see if they had flashlights, no one to be found anywhere. would have thought they would be concerned for their guests but obviously not. Had cold water in the morning and had to pack with lights from cell phones. Rooms were dirty, hot tub looked like it had muddy water in it. Would not recommend this motel to anyone. Had to give them 1 star because 0 was not an option.

Snyder's Shoreline Inn is an older motel almost on the Lake Michigan shore in the greatest town in Michigan; Ludington.
We've been coming to Ludington for weeks & weekends for nearly 30 years, but this was our first stay at Snyder's. Because of its location & outside charm, I always thought it was a high-end Inn. It's not. Though clean with a great location, the lighthouse & Lake Michigan were well in view from our room & patio, the room was small & full of impractical furniture. This was a three-day visit. If we were staying for a week, someones suitcase would have needed to remain in the truck. The bathroom was even smaller. We're average size people; plus size folk will be cramped in the shower.
The walls are thin & the continental breakfast was just that. Signs & directions to things like breakfast, ice machine, the pool, etc. are printed on white paper & blue-taped to the walls.
As an odd / important side note: we travel a fare amount around the US & Caribbean. This was the first time we've ever had a room that the door had to be physically locked to be secured. A fact not mentioned at check-in.

Room Tip: If you're going to stay here, ask for a lake side room. It ain't worth it otherwise.

This inn offers a clean, decent room right on Lake Michigan. There's no frills here, but the view of the lighthouse from our little back deck was enjoyable. This place is conveniently located near the beach and downtown Ludington.

Don't expect bargain basement prices - - a room with 2 queen beds was just under $190.

We just got back from a one night stay in Ludington. We just absolutely loved the hotel. the room had homey style furniture like a rocking chair in the corner. We had a large balcony looking toward the harbor, and we watched the sun set over Lake Michigan from our balcony. I noticed that the bathtub had jet fixtures, but we never tried it because we were just a few steps away from the outdoor Jacuzzi which was one of the nicest ones that I've ever seen at a hotel. (The water was actually HOT!) I regretted no having planned a longer stay. We may plan one in the future.

Room Tip: The lower level had the bigger balconies, but the upper level balconies seemed more private.
