I would give it a billion stars. This place is amazing. A must do if you come to michigan. The beach is great. Tube down the river for a relaxing time but dont forget water shoes. The shady bike paths allow a break from the summer sun. At dusk enjoy the deer as you ride by. I have been visiting ludington for 25+ years and it never gets old.

The first thing you see is parking alongside the dunes. Jump out of the car and cross dunes and you are on your own piece of lake michigan beach! Plenty of parking, concession stand and very clean bathrooms at the beach. Or travel up to the river and enjoy the beach there or rent some tubes, kayak or bring the fishing gear. The trails are amazing, plenty of places to camp for the day with bbq fixings, or camp longer. You can spend some great time exploring this beautiful park. Biking, hiking, tubing, kayaking, boating, fishing, you name it. Did i mention boat launch easily accessible too.

My family goes here at least once a year. It is beautiful. Because of this, there is quite a demand to get into the park (to camp). But if you can make it in, it is well worth it. The beach is top notch. There are great hiking and biking trails. A camp store if you forget anything. If the big lake is too cold or wavy, you can head over to hamlin lake/beach where the water is always calm and warm. The fishing is great in hamlin also. This is a can't miss spot if you are traveling through Michigan.

If you are into tubing, fishing, swimming, boating, camping, sand dunes, lighthouses, dune buggy rides, ATV's, hiking the most beautiful trails - this place is for you, the water is so crystal clear. Yes - Lake Michigan is fantastic on this side of Western Michigan, You can't go wrong here, every day is a vacation at the Ludington State Park, they have so many events - Northern Lights at dusk, Birds of Prey, Reptiles, Amphibians, Archery, I can go on about this. There is nothing like a vacation in Western Michigan, and Ludington State Park...... it's for everybody, any age...

Loved this state park. Big campsites. Clean bathrooms. Great beach. We biked to the lighthouse. Was tricky at times as the trail has some real sand covered spots. View from the top was worth the climb. Bring your bikes as there are lots of easy paved bike paths for the kids.
