“Best State Park in the Country”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 14, 2013

The Ludington State Park is absolutely gorgeous and offers a little bit of everything in nature. The hiking trails, campgrounds, beaches, and scenic views are unbeatable. We have been there several times and love it every time.

“Try the Canoe Trail!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 11, 2013

We had a great fall afternoon paddling the Canoe Trail. The trail starts at the beach of the Hamlin Lake day use area. It is about 4 miles long and goes along the shore of Hamilin Lake and then there are a few short portages that take back into a unique inland marsh area. It took us a little under 2 hours to complete. I would plan on at least a couple hours for this trip. We paddled at a fairly good pace and didn't take any breaks along the way. The conditions were also perfect without any wind to slow us down in either direction.

If you do not have your own kayak or canoe there is rental concession in the pavilion at the beach that has them starting at $10 per hour.

Ludington State Park is one of Michigan's most beautiful State Parks. There is something for everyone...fishing swimming, hiking, etc.

“Great state park”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 24, 2012 via mobile

This is one of the best state parks I've ever been to. Have been coming for over twenty years. Summer hikes. Winter hikes. The shoreline, the lake, and the river all combine into a great experience. The sand dunes make it incomparable.
