Difficult to get a campsite for certain weeks, but anytime this park never disappoints. Many great memories made here!

This is a great place to go with family and friends. We were there in the off season, so there were very few people there, however, I can see the possibilities if you go during the summer months. There is plenty of beach to enjoy along Lake MIchigan. There are also many available campsites, as well as many activities offered. There are bike rentals, boats, trails to walk along the river and Lake Hamlin, and (in the winter) cross country skiing .

Just spent the weekend up there, even in the rain it was a beautiful place. Even better when the sun came out, many different hikes to choose from. It was fun to watch the fishermen pull in the salmon from the river. We will definitely go back.

We made a day visit to hike the Ridge trail and take in the fall colors. Great trails and natural beauty. I wish the trail markers were placed a little more consistently and easier to follow. We were on some trails with no markers and not on the map. The beaches are fantastic, but like many places in the Michigan dunes, high winds can make for problems with the sand. All in all, this is a terrific state park visit.

Great beaches, hiking, and place to kayak! A nature lover's dream... You can camp or stay in town. Use your Michigan license plate passport to get in for free. When it is hot, tube down the river for a few hours and relax. The beaches are nice and long for privacy!
