“Love Hyatt Place - this one is great just like the rest!”
Reviewed November 3, 2009

If you've stayed at a Hyatt Place before, you know what to expect - they're pretty much all the same. And that is excellent. 50 inch HDTV flat screen televisions, spectacularly clean, nice couch, amazingly comfortable bed, solid continental breakfast with the option to order hot entrees at a good price.

Check in was fast and easy, of course to be expected at midnight on a Sunday evening - we had a great night rest and the breakfast was delicious and the coffee hot. Can't ask for much more. Got great rate, $39 plus tax for 3 star in Livonia (on Priceline). Came to about $50. Great night's rest for that price - I am consistently impressed with Hyatt Place.

I've stayed at 4 or 5 different Hyatt Places and this one is my least favorite. It has a great location and the staff was fine. On check in we were given the choice of a couple of floors,Took the second floor and the attendant said that he would put me in quiet room away from the elevator, unfortunatly I got room 202 which was next to a staff only room that had some kind of compressers that ran all night. This hotel seemed a little less updated that I was used too. I still like the comcept and will continue to stay at the Hyatt Place if the price is right.

Got off to a rocky start when I arrived and the computers were down. The staff was very apologetic, and since I had things to do outside anyway, I had them put my luggage in the office, and then came back a few hours later when the system was up.

This hotel is right out of the Hyatt Place blueprint book, so if you've seen many of the others you'll know what to expect here. Room was quiet. Had the usual layout, including the couch, the big TV and the desk. No wired Internet, but wireless worked fine, and the price was right - free (also two computers and a printer in a room off the lobby). Room had a fridge, which is helpful.

Didn't eat the breakfast, but it looked like the standard Hyatt Place fare, which is less than at most other chains, but OK.

The property is in a shopping center about 30 seconds off I-275. There's a huge movie theatre and some restaurants that you can walk to. More shopping, including a Meijer supermarket, is a very short drive out on Haggerty Rd to the right. Took about 30 minutes to get downtown.

One problem is that the shopping center shuts off the lights in the parking lot when it closes. And if you get back to the hotel late, or leave very early, you'll be in the dark once you leave the immediate hotel area.

Otherwise, a good choice and I wouldn't hesitate to return.

This was a great hotel room. The beds were comfortable, roomy, marble countertops, a small kitchenette for belongings, in a great location for shopping and dining restaurants, kind of a travel from downtown detroit, but a great choice. Continental breakfast was great but could have used a meat or hard boiled eggs. The pool are was clean and fantastic, the lobby was modern looking and the hotel staff seemed friendly and great servers. I would really recommend this to friends.

We wound up checking into this hotel after a debacle at another hotel and were impressed from the great service checking in very late at night all the way through check out time.

The rooms are awesome -- well laid out, lots of space and an enormous TV. The room even had a pull-out couch. Our only complaints about the room were that it was a bit noisy outside the hotel (we were on the 5th floor and it was still a bit loud), and the heat/AC was confusing to operate and at times seemed to have a mind of it's own.

Other than that it has a great location with pretty easy highway access, close to a movie theater, restaurants and pretty close to some shopping and not too far from the Rock Showplace or Twelve Oaks mall.

The breakfast was just ok, with lots of breads and some fruit, plus a few other items. It was very well presented, just a bit light on choices.

The staff was great every time we interacted with them, and the room also was awesome.

The hotel was clean and attractive and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful...I can't even remember the last time we came across this level of genuine friendliness anywhere. Having read some horrible reviews of nearby hotels we were thrilled to stay here.

We stayed here while visiting relatives in Michigan for the Thanksgiving 2008 holiday. Really nice staff, very friendly and professional. Great little hotel, loved the room. The lobby is lovely, high ceilings, large, bright room dramatically done and quite cheerful and festive during the breakfast hour. Cozy bed, nice comfy sectional sofa. What's not to like? Well, they could have had better breakfast food, but that wouldn't stop us from staying here again!! In fact, we were quite pleased overall.
