“what a nice comfort inn”
Reviewed October 20, 2012

this is a very nice comfort inn. The room was good size, the king size bed was very comfortable, nice and clean. Free internet, hair dryer, great shower. The breakfast was really good; hot selections included eggs, sausage, waffles also cereal, bagels and french toast to fix in the toaster. Selections nicely kept up, very clean eating area. Tasty coffee. I would stay here again. Very good location. This hotel is much nicer than most of the coice hotels I have stayed in lately.

This is a quiet location near a major Interstate exit. The motel is getting a little long in the tooth, but it is clean and well keep. It is a "good" place to stay at a good price. Do not expect a high quality experience, but it is worth staying at if all you need is a decent place to stay.

During the month of August we stayed in the Livonia area visiting family and friends for 4 weeks - we did road trips around Michigan and also to Niagara Falls and Washington DC. We returned to this hotel for a second time after trying another hotel in the same general area that was not good. We luckily made our reservations through Choice Hotel wen site and the manager George gave us a free upgraded room when we arrived. He said could not upgrade if we had booked through any other web site - so remember that! The room was larger than normal and great for me and the wife and our 12 year old son and 3 year old daughter. In the Jacuzzi room there was a great fold out couch bed for the kids. In the standard room there were 2 real queen size beds that was also good for our family. All the beds were clean, fresh, and pillows were better than most hotels, actually I liked them allot! The breakfast included was good and the staff keep the food in stock. The desk staff was good even a few of them late at night seemed to be on the internet or doing something on the computer and did not even look up or greet us when we came in. There was one very friendly black man (sorry did not get his name) that was exceptional during the days. This Comfort Hotel value was very good and we then even stayed at other Comfort Inn in several other states during our travel because we felt the value was good. We will stay here again when we visit from Thailand every year!

Room Tip: Make your reservation through the Choice Hotel web site or even call them to get the best price and...

We've stayed at many CHOICE hotels and usually stay at Comfort Inn because they have decent prices and free internet and free breakfast. We also get points as a frequent guest. This location is the best one ever. Huge nice lobby. Best shower! room has coffee maker, hair dryer, separate vanity area, comfy beds, big breakfast room, big screen HD TV. There is no frig or microwave but there is one down the hall. Very nice staff (George, manager) gave us a good rate which we negotiated directly with him on the phone plus we had another $20 off coupon so we only paid $59 for the $99 room.
We've learned that it is better to call hotel directly and negotiate with a manager rather than the published rate on line! Sure enough, today's national news had segment on the price-fixing by the major websites such as Expedia, Travelocity, Hotels.com, Orbitz, and more. We have used the AAA, AARP, USAA, and Senior Rate discounts (usually 10% off), but the manager can usually beat this with a direct call to him or her.
This location is somewhat hard to find as it's just off major intersection of I96 and Middlebelt but hidden behind the Olive Garden next door. There's no pool.
Breakfast was good, and everything was clean.
We'd definitely stay here again.
Interesting note: this hotel is owned by same people as own the one in Utica, Mi which was also nice.
All Choice hotels are non-smoking.
Lots of food and shopping center within a mile or two.

Room Tip: Ask for room on front of building on first floor. There is an elevator though.

We were in town for a family Christmas party and did not want to drive back at night. The hotel is nothing to look at from the outside - it reminded me of an office building. Unlike the other reviews I read, I found the staff to be helpful and friendly to me. The room we stayed was newer in style and we were happy with it, there were no strange or bad odors in our room and it looked like the housekeeping staff was working hard to make the rooms look nice. Overall, for a one night stay at a decent price we would come back here again.

We have stayed at this hotel for the past 6 years and each year it gets worst. I don’t know if it’s the changing of the staff or the general manager but it sucks. The owner Thomas Gustello needs to hire a whole new team and get odor control in this place. Stayed at Comfort Inn on Buckingham Ave. for a total of four days during Thanksgiving 2011. The hotel desk clerk Jeremy was really rude. The hotel room had a weird musk smell and it was not clean. The small pillows were very cute, but very uncomfortable. The hot water went out a few times. The only good thing about this hotel is location and the attendant in the breakfast room. My family came in about 2am on the last night there and the hotel attendant Jeremy stated that we made too much noise. We escort our guest out said good bye to our family and went to bed. While we were sleeping, the pompous Jeremy called the police without given us any warning at 4:30am. Yes we where remove from the hotel because the attendant ego. The police thought it was weird to wake a guest up to kick them out. Most hotel kick guest out for being belligerent or extremely loud. I really want to know there procedures. This hotel needs to remove the Comfort Inn name and Choice Hotel from their brand and Name it after Livonia Hospitality Corp or Thomas Gustello the owner....

I didn't smell any weird smells while I was here. I only stayed for 1 night with some family while attending a funeral and it was just an average hotel. Nothing special, but then again we didn't need anything special. Our only complaint was the pillows they have these very small square pillows instead of regular size. So we ended up putting two of them together and putting two pillow cases over them LOL! It seemed clean and had a normal continental breakfast the next day.
