“Beautiful House, Beautiful Setting”
Reviewed May 29, 2009

This beautifully restored historic home is located on a large open space in a small town on Lake Huron. Very clean and well maintained, the grounds are very nicely done with flower gardens and open spaces.

Wonderful is the best word to describe Inn the Garden. We didn't meet John but Susan is an engaging and efficient hostess; an excellent baker. The four bedroom 100 year old house is tastefully and comfortably furnished. Our room had a queen-sized brass bed, comfortable wing chair and foot rest and practical straight chairs. The parlor is available for quiet relaxation or a game of chess. Homemade raspberry cordials await on the sideboard. The library contains books but also a television set. I thought it most respectful that quiet time begins at 10:00 p.m. Three dining room tables are each set for two diners. Take a peek at the sunny kitchen! A long antique work table sits atop a ceramic floor. Topiaries sit on the window sill. Family pictures grace another counter top.
One suite is available at the Inn. Our shower stall was a tad narrow but some rooms also have a bathtub. The grounds are beautiful. Adirondack chairs provide comfortable seating underneath birch trees while wicker furniture graces the porch.
