Fishtown is a cool area with neat history. It's very small, but quirky in a good way. Awesome Mooney's ice cream sold at the General Store. Small stores are fun to browse through. Just a walk Lake Leelanau also.

Leland's fishtown is like stepping back in time. Reminded me of Nantucket. This is a great place--one of the neatest places near Traverse City.

Fishtown has the original fish market, done in the original way. The smoked fish sausage is crazy good. However, the rest of the shops are very tourist-driven with not much creativity.

This is a place we visit at least annually (having a family place locally). Fishtown is wonderful. We look forward to visiting here each time we are in Leland. There are several shops that are on the docks next to the dam. They are each within small wooden sheds. Super cute shops. The Cheese shop here has the BEST sandwiches (usually a line well out the door at lunch time- so get there early!) Cute Candy Store (which also has ice cream). Usually a shop or two will feature local artists also. Last but not least the "Tug Stuff" store. Famous for the Leland Tug boat (that is parked just across the dock. All items here feature the tug boat (clothing, hats, license plates, car magnets, belts, dog collars, EVERTHING!!). I would highly recommend Fishtown to anyone!

We stopped here on our way to the scenic drive of sleeping bear dunes. Worth a stop but I would not go out of your way to visit. Plan on spending about 20 minutes and you will be able to cover it all. Not much there. Spent more time finding parking. Was an interesting visit but not much worth reporting on.
