Not what we thought we were getting. Tight quarters and not much of an "Up-North" feel. The beach is smaller than my front yard ... Short and narrow. Overall, poorly run front office with very little management skills.

Thank you for your review of our resort although we must respectfully disagree. We are a top rated park by Trailer Life and are a 5 W rated resort by Woodalls in both facility and recreation. We are also a family operated resort with over 36 years of exemplary service and commitment to our campers. Our beach is quite large and beautiful with a sandy bottom and safe swimming for all. We offer docks, boat rentals and gasoline on our 700 feet of lake frontage. Our sites are above average in size and some are actually supersized and accommodate up to 42 foot RV's. Almost all have cement pads and patios and all are full hook up with cable TV and wifi. Our office staff/family are all in their 40's,college educated and give each customer their undivided attention. Our number one priority is friendliness and professionalism. We have never had a complaint such as yours regarding the office staff and are baffled by this review. We are actually thinking this review was meant for another park and not ours.

I have been staying in this park for a week to two weeks over the Fourth of July for over 30 years. When I first started to come to this park I was age 10 and we came with our immediate family and also three of my aunts and one uncle and their entire families. It was fun to have 5 lots and all of us enjoyed the fun activities for kids and we all enjoyed the beautiful lake with swimming, tubing and skiing. Now all of continue to come up over the same week however we have up to 10-12 lots as many of my cousins now come with their entire families me included. Our kids are growing up with the same experiences we had plus more. The same family has owned the park the entire time and we've watched the original parents hand down the responsiblities to their children (also my age). The lots have cement pads for your trailers, there is cable and they even pick up your trash by the road daily. You can buy wood for campfires and ice for your coolers all right there at the campground too. They've added wonderful "single stall" bathrooms that include a shower. (ten total) They have a nice playground for the kids and a NEW Lodge that houses their offices and a big screen tv for Wed night family movie showings and a game area for the kids. There is basketball courts outside and shuffle board too. The kids really enjoy playing a game of pickle. We keep our boat in one of the rented slips on the lake and have a wonderful time boating into Leland for shopping, lunch and ice cream. There isn't a better location, campground or service! Call for your reservation and ask for Donna or Cheryl. They are super sweet!

We stayed on the group site at the back of the campground in the woods. The park was absolutely beautiful, the facilities were spotless, and there were many options for recreational activities. Our group likes to camp more remotely and sit around the fire at night, and we learned quickly that this campground was not the place for that. Even though it was beautiful, everyone in the park is asleep by 11pm, so if you like to stay up later talking around the fire, you may want to find a different spot.

Thank you for staying with us and for your review of our resort. Your description of our park and ammenities was lovely and we appreciate it very much. We remember your group staying with us a couple of weeks ago in our tenting area and thank you. We do allow tenters (many of the parks in our area do not any longer) because we feel this is where the love of camping starts. Our goal is for you to continue to stay with us for years to come, either in a tent or RV, as many of our campers do year after year. We do have the usual quiet hours found in all private campgrounds. Our quiet hour starts at 11 pm and campfires are allowed until 12 midnight and are extremely common in our park. (We often overlook even the midnight time when campers are quiet and just enjoying their campfire). These rules are acceptable to 99.9% of our campers and are in place for the enjoyment and safety of all. Many campers have small children and should and do expect those around them to follow the rules. You were told when making the reservation that we were a family campground and did not permit loud noise and late nights and even asked you when booking the site for your group if you planned on partying and we were told no. Those looking for no restrictions on noise should really stay in a state operated park.

My husband and I have been staying here for years. We started staying here at different sites throughout the park and we are now seasonal. The area is called the Malibu of Michigan. The park itself is everything one could ask for. The park is family owned and run. The whole family is very nice and helpful. The park is beautiful and clean. Clean bathrooms! Everything is 1st class. The park is right on Lake Leelanau with boat docks on the property. A pontoon boat and water toys are available for rental. Many activities for the children, Hay rides, ice cream socials, planned activities, tennis courts, pickle ball, batting cages. So many activities I can't list them all here. Garbage pickup. Wood is available for fires. They also have a cabin to rent in the park and laundry facilities. They have built a beautiful lodge and have many more activities planned in this. The lodge is available to rent for functions. There are many restaurants, shopping, tourist attractions, fishing, and casinos in the area. Don't miss out on this park. We Love it and would recommend it to everyone. The price is right! Open May 1st to November. LLRV.com

This campground is very well maintained. However, the majority of sites are occupied by seasonal residents, so it feels more like a mobile home park than a campground. We had site #221.....a very beautiful campsite right on the water. The unfortunate thing is that most of the sites surrounding us, including the one directly next to us, were seasonal sites. Lots of kids, lots of noise. The kids at this site next to us would leave their bikes in our parking spot, so we would need to get out and move the bikes in order to park. Many of the seasonal children wanted to play in the water. Although there is a common beach area in the campground, many of the children would play at the edge of our site by the water even when we were sitting outside. There was not much respect given for specific campsites.

While this campground is in a great location in Michigan and is very well maintained, we will not return. We prefer campgrounds that maintain a better balance between seasonal sites and campers on the move. We also prefer a campground where seasonal residents don't feel like they own the overnight rental sites as well.

Thank you for your review and for staying at our rv resort. We appreciate it. We do, in fact, have seasonal campers that stay with us from May 1st until we close on Nov. 1st. There is not one mobile home in our resort. Our seasonal sites are mostly back from the lakefront leaving the majority of our sites closest to our waterfront to our vacationers such as yourselves. We appreciate your review of site # 221 as it is one of the most sought after in the park and is often booked up to a year in advance as are many of our sites. Our seasonal campers are the nicest and most curteous you will find anywhere. We have never had a complaint about them not respecting our campers on other sites. Quite the opposite is true. We have been told repeatedly over our 36 years of running a very successful and highly rated park that our seasonal campers are helpful and welcoming to all. As far as children in our park, that is absolutely true! We love families and offer free programs for kids, such as wagon rides, games programs, movies and more. Children playing outside can be loud as they should be and they are welcome to play in the water anywhere within our lakefront property. We have great repect for each of our campers and their sites and would have been happy to ask the children to park their bikes away from site # 221 if we had seem this occurring so we apologize for this. On a final note, we are a family operated resort that cares deeply and works extremely hard to please every camper that stays with us. We are known for exceptional service and going above and beyond and that has kept us the # 1 resort in the area for over 35 years. This review truly does not reflect our rv park/campground.
