We stayed for two nights while in the area. The hotel was very easy to find and in a nice area not far from all kinds of shopping and restaurants. The staff were friendly and the room was large and clean. There was a full kitchen and a very large tv with lots of channels. Breakfast was free and adequate. We parked right at our door and picked a ground level room as there are no elevators. Our room was handicapped equipped with no steeps and wide doors. You could wheel your wheelchair right into the shower. Had a great time.

I was staying for business with my fiance and Gari realized he'd be stranded until I got out of work that day. She helped accommodate us by allowing him to stay in the room and lobby until I was out of work. Excellent service and accommodation! I'd love to stay here again.

This hotel seems a bit down on its luck, stubbornly hanging on to the 1990s. It does have a full kitchen, including a stove, a refrigerator, a microwave, a sink, and a dishwasher, a living area with a couch and wood burning fireplace, and a well-equipped bathroom that even includes a fly swatter (?), but the carpet is frayed by the bathroom, and the furniture is old, including the somewhat saggy bed. It’s a bit noisy and our door had a lot of trouble opening, since the lock kept sticking. There was good water pressure and we were able to park close to our room, but I would not stay here again.

I was seeking a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom unit with kitchen amenities, and found exactly what I was looking for - The Residence Inn by Marriott, Kalamazoo East proved to be Excellent. My father really didn't want people gathering in his small condo on his 90th birthday, as he still lives independently and has things organized the way he needs things organized these days. The 2 bed, 2 bath unit served as an alternate gathering place for his immediate & extended families. On Tuesday night we had 12 of us (8 adults & 4 children) gather there to enjoy take-out Franco's Italian Subs & Pizza for a birthday eve celebration & then we used it on Wednesday for gathering 10 of his immediate family members (8 adults & 2 children) before taking him out to eat on his birthday. In between those events, my daughter, 2 yr old grandson & I slept there. The 3 of us enjoyed their breakfast spreads, especially the waffles (although we did make morning pilgrimages to the Starbucks down on South Westnedge). They had had a power outage prior to our arrival, that messed up some of their door key card locks, but that didn't effect our stay at all. But I did lose a key card (in our rental car for awhile, but eventually found it) and they graciously replaced our keys at that time. The sidewalks were kept shoveled & salted and house-keeping was very accommodating. We had no trouble sleeping (except when the 2 yr old was awake). It's our new "Go To" place in Kalamazoo.

The room was ok. Nothing speculator but you don't expect spectacular at this price point. But he wifi was awful. Almost unusably slow. Luckily, I was here for a WMU game, not work, so not a huge deal. But, be prepared for dial-up wifi speed.
