Description: Mangia Mangia brings you a tradition in Italian food that's traveled the world and spanned several generations. We offer recipes born out of old-world traditions and prepared with expert care, from Nonna Rosa's spaghetti sauce that's been in the family since 1936 and served to diners in West Michigan ever since, to new culinary creations presented with authentic style. Our restaurant's name comes from what any Italian grandmother would tell her family and guests at the dinner table. "Mangia, Mangia." Eat, eat! And enjoy. We've had two very good meals here. Good service, maybe a tad slow on one visit, but friendly. Grilled calamari was flavorful but tough and chewy, otherwise the food was very good, felt the menu had a nice variety. Nice atmosphere. Very good choice for Italian fare in this area.

One of the best Italian restaurants I have ever visited. If you are looking for value, ask what night they have the spaghetti special-It's under $4-not a special taste, but a special price

My daughters and I were enjoying the sunny fall day downtown Kalamazoo when we stopped into Mangia Mangia. It was obvious that we came during a low traffic time as very few people were there.

The waitress was attentive and friendly. The décor is beautiful.

What I really want to say is their marinara sauce is very good. It is perfectly complex with a pleasing texture and the right hint of sweetness.

There were four of us that all ordered different meals. None of the food was "bad," but none of it was memorable either. Considering the cost of the food, it was very disappointing. Also, our server didn't know the daily specials, forgot to bring drinks, sides, and entrées. The booth we were in shared a wall with the kitchen and they continued to "hang" things on the wall (I assume), but everytime they did it sounded like they were coming through the wall. Lastly, the manager was visible, but he would only talk to the young hostess. When he wasn't talking to her, he looked like he didn't even want to be there.

Overall, the food was "OK," but nothing better than we could've made at home, especially considering the price. Maybe we just had a bad staff on duty for our trip, but none of us plan on returning.

We were in a few weeks ago and the restaurant was packed!!! We got a seat in the lounge area and our server Erin was also the bartender. It was obvious she was extremely busy but never let it show. She took as much time with us as we needed and explained several menu items to us and suggested a bottle of wine to go with it. She warned u that food was taking a little longer tonight because of how busy they were but brought us out bread to snack on while we waited. Once our food arrived, I didn't Care for mine and she got me something else and took the first dish off my bill. Never once saw the manager about that but overall an ok experience saved by WONDERFUL service, we will be back to visit Erin and Mangia Mangia.
