Martell's, formerly The Black Swan, has pretty much retained the menu of its predecessor.
While my wife ate small, a chicken salad; I ate large, a roasted beet salad and prime rib.
My wife reported that the salad was fine. My roasted beet salad featured plenty of greens as well as beets in two different colours. The beets, to my taste, seemed more pickled than roasted. The prime rib was done to order and well trimmed. The plate included green beans (buttered rather than steamed) and buttermilk mashed potatoes that were very nice indeed. For dessert we split a Bailey's Irish Cream gelato that was excellent. Another member of our party had the apple dessert and loved it. This person also ordered their signature mushroom soup and it too is very good. Service was attentive but it did take some time to get the bill. In summer, you can look out on to a beautiful small lake (or large pond) and the place then becomes quite enchanting and charming. Two thumbs up!
