“Nice but a little bit "ho-hum"”

This is a very nice Bed and Breakfast in small town Jonesville, Michigan--sort of mid way between Detroit and Chicago. The house is very nice with furnishings that look to be authentic and appealing to the eye. The rooms are individually decorated, and all are very different from the others. The grounds are almost non existent, landscaping is poor. A nice gazebo with flowers surrounding it would have been nice in the backyard. The innkeepers try to go the extra mile, --a video library and snacks available night and day. They baked cookies (not from scratch, they tasted a lot like Gordon foods, break and bake type) and had a stocked fridge with beverages. The only element that makes this B and B stand out from the rest is the massages and spa therapy treatments that are available. Those were fantastic!! Breakfast is the standard fare, with no imagination. Some fresh flowers throughout the house and in the bedrooms would add a nice elegant touch. All in all, it was a nice get away. If you book any type of special or coupon package from the internet, be sure you get that verified before you go. Mike did not honor our "special" that he had on his own website. For the small price of a 25 dollar gas card, I think it would have helped his business if he had honored it for us. I would be more apt to recommend his establishment if I had left with a more positive experience. I suggest giving a detailed receipt to customers as well, all we had to pay by was his figures he tallied up on a calculator. It seemed like the straw market vendors in Mexico!!

We try to be honest and accurate about everything we say and do. We are located on a city lot and have limited room for extra landscaping and out buildings, so we do not claim to have any.

People who request a value added gift (like a gas card) need to follow the posted procedure and mention it when making their reservations to be assured that the gift will be in stock upon check out.

A credit card receipt is standard procedure. A detailed receipt is available upon request.

I found this place on the internet while looking for a Spa/B&B in Michigan. My bestfriend and I needed a weekend of pampering and relaxation while our husbands stayed home with the kids. This was the perfect choice. Mike and Lori are friendly and accommidating. The house is incredibly beautiful and clean. We stayed two nights and got massages and facials at the B&B. We had dinner at two different restaurants that were pre-paid and included in our package price. Mike made and outstanding breakfast each morning. We had a fireplace in our room. Free bottled water, pop, hot tea, coffee, cookies and snacks available at any time during our stay. We watched movies, read books and took naps. Exactly what a busy stay-at-home mom needs once and awhile!
LOVED this place!!!

The Munro House is the ultimate. I have had the occasion of staying at B&Bs that have been rated as the best in the country and they don't hold a candle to the Munro House. Everything about my recent stay was beyond my expectations. The exterior of the house is beautiful and when you enter you will find that the interior is just as beautiful. Mike the inkeeper is a great host and wonderful conversationalist. The room are charming and are appointed per the time of when the house was built (c.1834). Each room has a private bath and a very comfortable bed with fluffy pillows. The full breakfast prepared in minutes was very tasty and filling. The fridge with soft drinks is open for you at anytime and home baked cookies are waiting for you to enjoy them. Mike was very accommodating when we were not sure about the time we would be able to check out. If you are looking for a fantastic place to stay while you are in southern Michigan or perhaps are considering a weekend getaway The Munro House is it.

We were looking for a quiet relaxing getaway from Detroit and found it here. The couple that runs this B&B were so nice. They went out of there way and cooked a wonderfull dinner for us because the local resterants were all closed. Its a nice house with a lot of history, which they will be happy to share with you.
