The Lake N Pines Lodge is a lovely place to stay. It is quiet and peaceful. The lake has a 6.5 mile trail around it and is Federally owned so there aren't many houses on the lake or boat traffic. :) P.S. They also bring breakfast to your door if you wish. Fabulous!!!!!!

Room Tip: Every room is a good room.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Lake 'N Pines Lodge. Our room was spacious and beautiful and the bed was super comfortable. We absolutely loved the breakfasts provided - especially that we had so much choice... and David's willingness to help us with directions and other extra touches really impressed us. We wished that we could stay longer to fully enjoy the lake, although we watched a sunset from the swing on the dock and took a hike through the state park to enjoy the autumn colors. Fall is a perfect time to visit Lake 'N Pines Lodge because it is nestled in the woods so you get the full impact of the gorgeous autumn leaves. The main house is very comfortable and inviting and we felt most welcome. We would definitely recommend Lake 'N Pines Lodge to others, and we hope to stay there again ourselves in the future.

Room Tip: We had the Vineyard Room and it was very lovely. There was a futon under the window that was deligh...

My husband and I stayed there last year just before Christmas to have a little relaxing time. It was wonderful. We stayed in the Bay Chalet room. It was beautiful. It was all decorated for Christmas. We totally enjoyed the room. We would set by the fire place and listen to some relaxing jazz Christmas music. We had our breakfast brought up to us and set by the fire place and enjoyed. We have already made reservations to return the same time this year. Looking forward to our return.

Room Tip: The Bay Chalet

We went to Lake 'N Pines Lodge for a long weekend on the Fall Color Tour package. It was wonderful. The room was decorated in a vineyard/wine theme, which was adorable. The view from the lodge is beautiful, especially in the Fall with mist on the lake and the fantastic colors of the trees. The owners are extremely helpful with information (wonderful info in a folder in the room on all local attractions) and service was excellent. The breakfast has a broad choice and was very good. The Lodge feels in the country, away from people but is only about 10 - 15 minutes from Traverse City. Everything was in easy driving distance. I would recommend one of their packages as they are very well put together and excellent value. We had an absolutely perfect time there. We hope to go back there.

We stayed after the leaves had fallen so we missed the lake usage and colors but the house was great. Breakfast was excellent, free access to movies, and a very pleasant and comfortable Vineyard Room. We consider the upstairs suite with the hot tub for a future visit. We usually like staying at old houses but this was a great substitute for a hotel/motel and with the cost of breakfast deducted from our total cost, the lodging was quite inexpensive. The host was pleasant and responsive.

We were supposed to be on a cruise to Bermuda, ported out of New York City. Because of Hurricane Sandy, we cancelled the cruise 2 days before we were to leave. I jumped on the internet and found Lake 'N Pines Lodge. The price was perfect so I quickly booked the cottage for 4 nights. The cottage was great. Clean, clean, clean! And I'm fussy about where I lay my head! The bed was so comfortable I slept 12 hours straight the first 2 nights! It was nice having the binder in the room with maps, menus, and local attractions. The made-to-order breakfasts were fantastic. Dave's a VERY GOOD cook! The lodge is perfectly located in that Mackinaw City/Island is within a days trip to visit, as well as easy access to Traverse City and attractions to the west. There are local eateries within a few minutes so you don't have to travel for dinner. In our case, we had a private deck with a gas grill, but again due to H. Sandy, it rained every day so we didn't get to use it. All in all, it was a great place to get away to even if it wasn't Bermuda!
