We have just returned from Montserrat on Feb 16th 2012 and have to say how wonderful this apartmant was and how helpful and friendly Annie and Eric were. This was our 1st long haul trip with our 3 year old son and we spent the first part of our holiday in Antigua and then took the ferry over to Montserrat for the 2nd part of our holiday. We were not disapointed Montserrat made for a very interesting, relaxed and friendly holiday and Eric and Annie were terrific in everyway. The apartment was clean, comfortable and well appointed and we also kept it cool by keeping the doors open at night and just closing the Mesh Doors to keep a nice breeze coming into the rooms. The pool was basically ours for the week so we spent the odd afternoon or morning in the sun just chilling out. Anine and Eric arranged for Winston to collect us from the ferry port and he even stopped off on the way to allow us to get some shopping. Annie and Eric also arranged for the hire of a 4 x 4 for the duration of our stay (you definatley need a 4 x 4 on this island) car was only $35 a day and although it was an old Japanese import it did the job and did not let us down once. There were plenty of good places to eat out and we would highly recommend Olveston House, The Attic and JJ's where food was very good and not expensive. The island seemed very safe to explore and on the last day on the way to the Airport we collected a Hitchiker who wanted a lift (we would never do this anywhere else, especially with a small child with us). Many thanks again to Eric and Annie and Winston who collected us and sorted us out with cars - THANKYOU. We flew back to Antigua with Montserrat Airways on a small 8 seater plane and Captain Ramsey allowed me to sit in the Flight Deck and we ended up having the plane just between the 3 of us, this made for a nice parting journey and we even got to have a fly around Antigua before we landed.
We have always said that we would never travel to the same holiday destination twice however if we head to one of the other Carribean islands in the future we will definately want to arrange to spend the 2nd part of our trip in Montserrat with Annie and Eric
All the best Paul, Julia and Ellwood
