Heavy duty package of joy wrapped in flaky pastry and stuffed full of a day's required calories. Sat outside for a great river view.

Roy and his crew have catered the bakery for several large weddings at our venue and the donuts, petit fours, cakes, cupcakes and cookies were perfect. They went above and beyond to make sure our guests were satisfied.

We wanted to try a Pasty in Michigan and one of the local guys from a town close by recommended Roy's. So we went there and not only is the Pasty's good the location is delightful. It is right by the water andyou can sit outside or inside. It is a place where you can bring kids. I felt for sure Lunch or Supper and didn't look at breakfast options.

Two of us visited for lunch on a Monday. One of us enjoyed the regular pasty. Crust was very good and filling delicious. Our other choice was the vegetarian sandwich. The sandwich was very good and the bread excellent. The view of the water is excellent. Outdoor seating is also available. I really wish that the dinning area inside was cleaner. Table tops needed cleaning and the floors looked dirty. The beverage area needed attention. We took a cookie to go. It was a cranberry cookie in a plain, sugar cookie type dough. It was very crumbly but tasted good.

I would give them another try based on the view and the pasty. I am hopeful that the dinning are will be cleaner on my next visit.

Perhaps it was our fault for thinking we could get pasties for dinner.
We had never heard of a pasty and wanted to give it a go.
About 2.5 hours before closing, the only available option was traditional.
Being vegetarian, this was not an option.
We settled for sandwiches, which were served quickly.
There were a few vegetarian options, which was great.
The cole slaw was de-licious.
A lovely young lady helped us out when we looked bewildered at the lack of pasties.
A variety of beverages is available.
It is a large space and very clean.
The location has beautiful views and good parking.
I want it to rate it higher, but was bummed about late in the day options.

Hello! Sorry we were unable to assist you with vegetarian pasties when you came in. However, you did come on Michigan Tech's alumni weekend, one of the busiest times of the year in Houghton. You could have called and reserved the vegetarian option for yourself ahead of time. We are glad you enjoyed the restaurant and our other vegetarian options! We are disappointed you felt the need to rate us so low though! Since we make all of our sandwiches right in front of you, we also can make the "meet free option" for any of our 18 sandwiches. Perhaps we will be able to serve you again in the future! If you have the option to dine with us again, we highly recommend that you call and order your vegetarian pasty selections well in advance so that we can ensure that we are able to accommodate you!
