Great, authentic pasties, just what I was looking for. And the pastries there are great too.
It's a little hard to find, there in a small strip mall but well worth looking for. Right next to Subway, so if you have picky eaters in the family (like mine) they can go there while you enjoy your pasty!

We were directed by a local to Roy's for the best pasties in the Houghton-Hancock area and I think I'd agree. So many pasties fail in the crust department - it is often too hard, and tasteless. Roy's has the crust just right - just barely tough enough to pick up, but tender and flaky and tasty. We enjoyed a breakfast pasty (eggs and sausage) and were disappointed that they are not available frozen, but we did buy a dozen frozen regular to take home to Wisconsin. Their sweet pastries and cookies are also excellent.

We LOVE Roy's pasties! They're all so, so, SO good. Our favorites are the traditional ones and the chicken broccoli ones. We've tried their baked goodies too and the strawberry rhubarb bars are to die for. We've only had good experiences at Roy's so far. Oh and a side note, if you collect enough stamps on their card, you can get a free pasty at the end.

Ya can't drive the length of the UP without at least TRYING a bite of pasty so we did here. It was...okay...more potato than beef. Not bad though. They had a chicken one also and other baked items.
Now that we've tried them...we're done!

As an earlier reviewer indicated, the sweet treats and dessert-type baked goods are quite good---likely, some of the best in the area. The sandwiches used to be better and has become a point of concern as the quality of the ingredients---and quantity----has taken a real dip over the past several years. As an example, Roy's Ten Grain Bread (used on sandwiches) has become "a shadow" of what they previously made and used----that has become a real disappointment.
