We would go again, it was pretty packed- a beautiful day in June we got there around 1pm or so. and we found a spot to put our chairs but definitely crowded. clean bathrooms. vending machines. a park area for picnic tables before you get to beach, the walk through tunnel is unique.I would visit again

Our family visited Tunnel Park on a warm, sunny day. It was a little crowded but not bad. Plenty of parking (there is a small admission fee). Besides the beach area, they have restrooms, changing rooms, a spot to wash off the sand, beach volleyball courts, and picnic areas. The place was very clean, safe, and suitable for families.

The draw is walking through a tunnel to a spectacular view of Lake Michigan. You will have to walk down down steps to get to the beach. This is less busy than the State Park. Many people come here for picnics and volleyball. Parking can be tricky if you arrive later than 11am on the weekends. Don't let that deter you from this gem.

My husband, our three daughters, and I visited Tunnel park on a Thursday afternoon in early June. The place was almost deserted. There were only 2 other families on the beach so it really felt like we had the place to ourselves. We climbed up to the overlook and skipped the tunnel. Such a beautiful view. The park was clean and the water was calm and cold. Our kids loved playing in the sand and swimming in Lake Michigan. Could have sat on this peaceful little beach for hours. Definitely worth the small cost to get in.

Visited recently with family including my 4 year old son, teenage nieces, sister and mom. WE loved this park so much we spent almost an entire day here. You can do it all here, hiking (okay, not a ton of it, but you can for sure get some exercise), playing on playsets, playing in the sand and water and experiencing a view that has to be seen!

The beach here is amazing. Soft white sand that you just want to spend all day in. There are a few opportunities to walk on this amazing sand up a fairly steep hill. If you are looking for exercise, here is your opportunity! There are stairs that you can use also, which is much easier. The walk 'up' takes you to an amazing outlook area. Its huge, many places to sit and rest and many places to play or bring a picnic. There is e even a collection of huge posts up here that you can use to tie up a portable hammock. My niece had brought one with us so we enjoyed a long time of sitting in the hammock. There was about 10 other people who had done this also but there was room for everyone.

I cant say enough good things about this place. We loved the beach, even the short walk to the beach (through a huge tunnel) was great. The view of the lake, especially around sunset, was amazing. The sand was great to play in. The outlook area we could have spent all day in. My son loved the play set and the bathrooms on site weren't even that bad. All around a great experience.

One thing to note, you do pay to park here for the day. If you are a MI resident, its cheaper then a non resident. Non resident we paid $9 for the day. We came and went many times for that price though and it was for the full car of people. Well worth it!
