For special occasions this is a good choice. They do not serve your typical entrees which puts the prices above everyday budgets, but for a special date or anniversary, this is a good choice. Wide beverage selection as well. Try to get a table by the windows as the view is nice over the city.

This place has a limited and very fru-fru menu that is not in keeping with the community, not even for resort people. Their prices are high for what they provide. If this was Ruth's Chris Steak House with some real selection of real foods that interested us I could understand their prices, but we were not that impressed. They would be better to introduce some real Midwestern selections.
The restaurant, like the hotel is pleasantly decorated if you like contemporary modern, and is clean with a view of the worst part of downtown....the back streets, and of the marsh-land between downtown and the 150 year old authentic Windmill. I believe some would really like that, and I'm sure it is nice in the summer when it opens up to a rooftop area. .

Thank you for taking the time to review our restaurant. Sorry to hear you thought the price was too high. We do try to remain competitive with the other local restaurants, and think we have done a good job at keeping our prices at those same levels, but we do appreciate your input always discuss these reviews in our team meetings. Thanks again!

CityVu has a great view of the Holland area. However, I find nothing special about the service and food. The menu is limited, but trendy. Probably a fun happy hour destination on a warm evening. We've eaten there twice for dinner.

Thank you for the review Susan, sorry to hear you haven't been too impressed with our offerings. We have a somewhat limited menu when you take away the flatbreads and pizzas, this is because we have no fryers and limit the amount of ingredients that come to us frozen, so standard things on other restaurant menus sometimes don't work in the Bistro. We do change our menus seasonally as well as adding three 'taste of' special options for dinner each month, so hopefully if you return you will have something that 'wows' you! Thanks again!

We ate at the CityVu Bistro for a late breakfast on a Saturday after spending the night in the hotel. The restaurant had a very relaxed feel and the sun coming in the windows gave it a warm welcoming feeling. I had an omelet that came with toast and potatoes. I really liked that I was able to go to the omelet station and tell the chef what I wanted in it. My husband got the french toast with strawberries and creme and my son got the waffle with strawberries and cream. We were impressed by the presentation of the food and the large portions we were given. For these 3 dishes we felt like we really got our moneys worth. My husband described his french toast as phenomenal. Our waitress was very friendly and efficient. We would like to come back here and try a meal at lunch or dinner. As a side note we thought the long handled silverware was unique and pretty cool.

We decided since we were in the hotel we as well try the restaurant upstairs. And we were very pleased! The food was presented well, the service was great, and the flavours were wonderful. The style of the entire hotel was very Scandinavian-Modern and the bistro was no different. We ate here twice during our stay.
Both times we left very satisfied.
