“Nice Dining Experience”
Reviewed August 18, 2013

After receiving a recommendation, my husband and I decided to go here for dinner. The sun was setting on Lake Macatawa, and we were given a window seat to enjoy the view. Our servers were pleasant and efficient. The menu was varied, with a nice selection of steaks, seafood, chicken, sandwiches and salads. What caught our eye was the section featuring macaroni and cheese served with a variety of additions, like lobster and shrimp. I chose the small bowl of Mac and Cheese with the addition of shrimp, and my husband copied me, only he had the larger bowl. We were also served a variety of warm, and very tasty, rolls. Dinner came with a salad, and there were a variety to choose from. The salads were delicious. My husband even commented on his after our dinner was over. The Mac and Cheese was very good, and the shrimp were plentiful. Neither of us could finish our dinner.....too full! Overall, a nice dining experience. They also had outdoor dining on a side patio overlooking the lake.

“Great Lakeside Dining in Holland”
Reviewed August 12, 2013

We stopped by here for an early dinner while driving from Lake Michigan. We were seated outside on the 'boardwalk' which has a wonderful view of Lake Macatowa and felt quite secluded from the activity around the outside bar. The bar features about six beers on tap, a good selection of wine, and specialty bar drinks.
The menu is nice sized featuring sandwiches, appetizers, seafood, lake fish, chicken, beef, and one pork dish. I had Pesto Pesto Chicken which is a chef's special and a small dinner salad.
The salad consisted of very fresh, crisp baby greens, toasted pecans, and dried cranberries with a cranberry vinaigrette on the side. The pesto chicken was a generous dish of penne pasta covered in a sun dried tomato cream sauce with halved fresh grape tomatoes and baby spinach leaves. This was topped with a nice grilled chicken breast and a dollop of basil pesto.
Service was attentive, prices range from $10 - $30 per entre, the place is very clean and feels like upscale water-front dining. We will go back next time we are in the area.

“Nice spot for a dinner”
Reviewed August 9, 2013

Ate outside right on the water. The mushroom appetizer was quite good, the fish meal was good too. Outdoor seating is extensive and they had music over by the bar.

“Great place for 'happy hour'”
Reviewed August 8, 2013 via mobile

We went here with my sister and husband who live on Lake Macatawa. The happy hour is great! The food selection was quite large along with the portions. Service was also very good. Beautiful spot, will definitely go back!

“Excellent food and service but very pricy”
Reviewed August 8, 2013

We have eaten at the Boatwerks several times as we attend an annual photography workshop in Holland, and have never been disappointed. We especially like their Lake Michigan Yellow Perch, which is superb. It is a very nice atmosphere (both inside and the outside seating), and the staff is always wonderful. The only downside are the prices, and to some extent, portion sizes on the small side. The total tab, including tip, for two perch dinners and an artichoke dip appetizer (water to drink), was over $70. Not outrageous mind you, but on the pricy side.
