Just as an update, and for the sake of accuracy, this place is now called Hartland O'Malley's. McGurrins have not been associated with it for years. I've eaten here several times over the years, keep giving it chances, and have never been impressed with anything. The food isn't bad, just average. I've had better fish and chips in many pubs. The last time we were there, one of the folks in my party had a craving for french fries. An upscale pub, which is what the decor here suggests, seems like the perfect place to order fries. When the fries arrived, they were limp and heavily seasoned (don't believe the menu suggested this). Our sandwiches and burgers were all just okay, somewhat flavorless. For a few dollars less each, we could have walked to a better meal at a coney type place around the corner. The person who ordered the fries asked if he could get them without seasoning and was told the frozen fries come pre-seasoned in a bag, from Gordon Food Service, along with many other items on the menu. I was very disappointed to find out that a place which charges $10 for a burger and fries cannot bring it's food to the level of a common coney joint. The ambience is nice and it's a great place for a beer, but we will not likely be returning for the bland frozen food.
