“Frozen Food...”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 29, 2012

Just as an update, and for the sake of accuracy, this place is now called Hartland O'Malley's. McGurrins have not been associated with it for years. I've eaten here several times over the years, keep giving it chances, and have never been impressed with anything. The food isn't bad, just average. I've had better fish and chips in many pubs. The last time we were there, one of the folks in my party had a craving for french fries. An upscale pub, which is what the decor here suggests, seems like the perfect place to order fries. When the fries arrived, they were limp and heavily seasoned (don't believe the menu suggested this). Our sandwiches and burgers were all just okay, somewhat flavorless. For a few dollars less each, we could have walked to a better meal at a coney type place around the corner. The person who ordered the fries asked if he could get them without seasoning and was told the frozen fries come pre-seasoned in a bag, from Gordon Food Service, along with many other items on the menu. I was very disappointed to find out that a place which charges $10 for a burger and fries cannot bring it's food to the level of a common coney joint. The ambience is nice and it's a great place for a beer, but we will not likely be returning for the bland frozen food.

“Local Pub”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 26, 2012

Nice place to hang out and meet someone for dinner. But the food is not as good as it once was. It is good but not great and truthfully if we go it is because of the convience factor of this resturant bieng right in town.

“Great Food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 6, 2012

I have eaten here only twice, but both times everything we had was great. My husband got some of their German fare when he was there and it was terrfic. I have had the combo plate and it was a lot of good food. The irish nachos are really great .too. I did find their corned beef and cabbage a little bland but the fish and chips were really great. Also there french dip or whatever they call it was fantastic. I agree with the other reviews that it is a fun family and friendly place but not for romantic dinner.

“Yummy specials!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 25, 2009

I've been here a couple times. The food is moderately priced, the wood-planked floor and bar are gorgeous and the staff friendly. The food is wonderful! Average price is about $12 or so. Be sure to take advantage of the specials. Although it's an Irish pub, families and couples are welcome. It's a little loud, but only because it's a comfortable gathering for friends; meaning I wouldn't recommend for an intimate dinner for 2, but anything else is worth the trip!

“Good Bar food... way too pricey!!!!”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 4, 2008

The staff was okay, but not the best. Drink refills took much longer than expected. The food was average and I would not say it was even remotely close to the quality of the other irish bars in the area. The prices were very high for the quality and quanity. Will not return, would not recommend.
